Because "two wrongs don't make a right"?

My question wasn't directed at Alan Pardew himself, as far as I am aware he doesn't post on the forum here.
Sorry - don't understand this response. Mine was obviously too terse. It should have read along the lines of: "Ferguson is being criticised for his actions in a recent incident that were both totally at odds with the rules and spirit of the game, and sadly typical of his bullying demeanour towards officialdom for a substantial period of time. Whether or not Pardew is himself is beyond reproach - and I am quite willing to believe that he is not - is irrelevant to whether or not Ferguson should be criticised. To make such a claim would be tantamount to claiming that such bullying is acceptable if enough people do it. It is not, and never will be."

I understand.

I didn't particularly want to defend Ferguson's actions, but I made my post because the amount of criticism aimed solely at him seemed wrong. People had suggested he should be stripped of his Knighthood and called him such things as a "disgrace". As the majority of criticism here seemed to be in response to him calling Alan Pardew a hypocrite, it felt as if people were coming to the defence of Pardew.

Pardew's actions don't excuse those of Ferguson but in this instance I feel they are worse and the fact is that they have had almost no coverage in the media and have barely been mentioned in this thread.

As a neutral in the NUFC/MUFC saga, Fergie is seen as 'untouchable' and Pardew is punching above his 'limited' capabilities
You don't get any more 'hardcore' than a Newcastle United supporter
The return of a Glasgow Derby today,Queens Park v Rangers, live on Sky too, although Rangers are now running away with SFL3, at the start of the season I seriously expected then NOT to drop a point all season (and that's coming from a Celtic Fan)
Mind you, as expected, we're running away with the SPL :)

. terrible first half from Leeds. could be at least three down and a man down. aid white very lucky to stay on the pitch. hull maybe should have had a player off as well. brown was elbowed in the face and went off with blood everywhere.

Korean and elmohamady causing us loads of problems. l Leeds have had nothing g going forward.

need a better second half. come on the whites

Do you think that Steve Bruce has greatly changed the playing style of Hull City since taking over, from what you saw today ?

it was hard to judge hull overall because Leeds were so poor. we gave them so much room in midfield. they did play some nice stuff though. they have genuine quality and they had so much more desire than Leeds.

Absolutely dire from West Ham today. The game was fractured, nasty and niggly, and a defensive error from James Collins let Pogrebnyak in to give Reading the lead after five minutes.
Neither side could get a hold of the game. West Ham didn't create enough and wasted the little that they did.

Huddersfield are upset with today's result and the referee, after Sheffield Wednesday's Jeremy Helen got booked in the 9th minute for diving, and booked again in the 26th minute for a foul, but was not shown a red card ....

Yet another three points for Hyde away from home, to follow on from Wednesday's 2-0 win away to Stockport County. Now at the "dizzy" height of 9th in the league, after they made such a poor start to this season at this rarified level and were making statisticians look to the lowest ever points total accumulated by any team in the Conference Premiership.

Being somewhat of a mathematician, I was quite interested what the goals conceeded would be today, following on from 8 and then 4.

Did you use a geometric progression and guess 2 or an arithmetic one and guess 0? Or perhaps some weird polynomial that excel always manages to do :p

Is it possible you could do a "Birmingham" win the League Cup and get relegated the same season ? :p

Can't see us getting past Bradford on this form let alone in the final against Swansea or Chelsea. And it's Small Heath round these parts ;)

Lerner out. Please.

Indeed, who would we bring in though? Investment in January must happen, we're practically a Sunday league team in quality and under 18s in age.

The Arsenal game hasnt even started and they have had a woeful Holiday programme they now find themselves 16 points behind Moan Utd, 13 points behind Man Citeh, 10 points behind the team from the wrong end of Seven Sisters Road, 9 points behind the Chavs and sitting in 7th place where a win would not get you higher then 6th place on goal difference.

No new players coming in January, and maybe a few leaving is all that we are about nowadays. Says something about how far Arsenal have fallen they cant even get rid of tickets for the home game against Man Citeh!.

Prediction for today a 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle. Oh and that is very optimistic.

Well, only 3 conceded by Aston Villa today shows a logical diminution of goals conceded, but still leaves an average of 5 per game, taken over the last three matches..

Gareth Bale appears to have received his fourth booking of the season for diving, according to Yahoo Sports.

Anyone but Randy Lerner. The clown couldn't care less, and I'm amazed there weren't demonstrations against him last season. He's more bothered about collecting private jets than his football club - I hear the Falcon 7X (N85DN) is being replaced by yet another brand new plane. Time for Villa fans to face reality - the manager isn't the problem, it's the way the club is being run. I knew this would happen when O'Neill left, and I've been proved right. Lerner out.

^^ Hyde are doing quite well and I think they only lose twice in 9 matches now.

Oldham lose again to Crewe this afternoon (1-2) to be fair Crewe did played well and should be 1-0 up in first 10 mins, I do think Latics did to beat Scunthorpe on Tuesday as this losing run can't keep going on or they will found themself in bottom 4 in next two weeks times probably :(

Also I notice Macclesfield beat Barrow 4-1 in FA Cup Second Round replay today mean next Saturday, Macclesfield are playing against Cardiff in third round draw, don't bad draw for Silkmen as Cardiff are top of Championship and looking to be in Premiership next season.

I notice Barnsley have sacked manager Keith Hill this evening after they lost 3-1 to Blackburn this afternoon.

I'd comment on how bad the refereeing at PNE vs Doncaster was today but then I realised how little the FA care about us. Disgusting, should have been 0-0 as all 3 goals were invalid...

Just back from Reading. Great result for us, defended superbly, Pearce, Mariappa & Karacan all excellent. Get a result Tuesday vs Spurs and we'll deffo be back in the race.

Wow West Ham are sore losers!

newcastle set a new record today, first team to score 3 in successive matches and lose them both, also was this the highest scoring premier league game ever with 10 goals?

Portsmouth 7-4 Reading about 4 years ago was higher-scoring :)

It's one of, in a joint way. Porstmouth vs Reading was 7-4 so is top with 11 but the number of 9 & 10 goal games are quite high.

Linky

Seems like that was some game :D

Hibs 1 Celtic 0
Give a soft goal away and then fail to break down a well organised defensive unit, oh well..

I wouldn't worry Ace, it's not like Celtic have got someone breathing down their neck ;)

As for my lot, well we won but at the same time it was a bit of a tight one. From what I've been told Nasri's red card was very harsh as the other guy should have walked as well, Norwich's first goal came from an apparently very debatable free kick too. I can not verify both points as yet as I am waiting for MOTD.

An excellent result for Wigan too, I'm getting a trifle concerned for Villa though as unless they do something soon I don't know if they will make it. A shame as Villa are an "alright" club in the league.

I've got my opinion on McTaggart which I will share later as I must dash...

Phil 8-)
