Brilliant 3 0 win for Derby County on Teeside this afternoon. We never normally get anything there!

And Will Hughes scored for Watford. Well done Will!

Darlo 2 v Harrogate 3 - FA Trophy ( played Friday night) . Lost again. Led, behind, equalized, lost with last kick of the game. FFS. Plus got evils for cheering as Darlo took the lead while sat in a quiet carriage. Got worse for swearing as we slipped behind. Sigh. Could have done with the money.

Another planet...
The natives are restless with manager Monk not winning them over. Boro will do well to make the playoffs.
But he's got so much class, humility and respect... ;)

Having narrowly failed to get something from the Champions Elect on Sunday, we head to Arsenal tonight... can we end our terrible away run?

I know that feeling... Grantham Town 3-1 up against Conf. North side Chorley. Pegged back to 3-3 only to lose the game in the dying minutes 4-3. Still seven goals in a 'typical' cup tie didn't seem so bad. However, as with Darlo, the money would've been nice for the club.

World Cup 2018 draw is currently live and in totally-not-fixed-honest Russia are drawn with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay.

Tunisia and Belgium are in a group with England at the moment

Portugal and Spain is the most interesting thus far

edit: Panama are also in England's group

Group G
Belgium, Panama, England, Tunisia

They won't get out of that, Uruguay and Egypt to qualify.

Despite all the hilarity that will ensue for the next 7 months as many people await another summer of disappointment, I really cannot wait. Love a summer of football.

What's been going on up in Scotland? Too much whisky for Fort Bill's goalie perhaps?

Southend 2-0 Oldham

It sound like Southend deserve the victory as Latics defending were poor today. Oldham had chance of making it 1-1 before half time but Davies penalty was saved by Southend goalkeeper.

Went to watch Sheffield Wednesday draw 2-2 at home to Hull City today. Hull were 1-0 up, Gary Hooper scored twice for the home side before Hull equalised in the dying moments. Good game for a neutral.

A trio of match reports:

Winchester City 2...Bideford 3 (Allan og 41, Bailey 80, Barron m/pen 76; Seymour 32, Duff 46, 83)

Bideford recorded their first ever win against Winchester in a close game at the City ground. The visitors took the lead after half an hour when Ben Seymour sent a shot into the opposite corner before Craig Allan headed a cross into his own net. However, Craig Duff scored a superb effort just after the break and City laid siege to the Bideford goal and Jamie Barron saw a penalty saved before Ollie Bailey levelled it up. However, Bideford scored again almost immediately and closed out the game for all 3 points.

Tuesday:

North Leigh 1...Winchester City 2 (Sheehan 25; Bailey 18, Jenkinson 60)

Winchester City recovered from their defeat with a hard-fought win at North Leigh. Ollie Bailey opened the scoring before the hosts equalised. City retook the lead with half an hour to go, with Liam Gilbert clearing an effort off the line late on.

Swindon Supermarine 4...Bishops Cleeve 2

Yate Town 0...Paulton Rovers 4

Today:

Winchester City 2...Evesham United 0 (Carr 63, Hill 80)

Winchester City notched up an impressive victory against one of the better teams in the league. A goalless first half was followed by a double change that paid dividends when Rob Carr's free kick bounced at just the right point to fool the Evesham keeper and end up in the top corner before IK Hill scored his first league goal for the club with ten minutes left to secure the win.

Hyde United 4...Tadcaster Albion 1

Hyde got their season back on track at home to one of the better mid-table sides. Tadcaster took an early fourth minute lead which, after much pressure, saw Hyde equalise a minute before the half-time break. Hyde then scored three second half goals to record a well-earned victory and this result sees them in fifth place with matches in hand.

Hyde ended the small unbeaten run of my hometown club. Haven't been down to see Taddy much this season, think I'm barred! (Last 17 games I've seen them we've lost 16)

Meanwhile I had a free Saturday for once so was able to go and see York. This time away at second bottom Boston United. We bossed the first half and could have been 3 or 4 in front. In typical York fashion though, our rubbish second half performances which have happened under our previous 3 managers continue to happen under Martin Gray and we lost 2-1.

Jan's pay pack is making my insides burst atm!

In other news, the Prem has put out its ITT for the next set of TV Rights... https://www.premierleague.com/news/532013
