So he got me to pretend to telephone Alex whom only I knew at the time to say that Alex had been out spotting at Stafford and the train was a Class 87 when he had seen it, though I dont think I was very convincing.
I got a cramp, and those who walked arrived with 10 minutes to spare as the train was running about 15 minutes late.
HSTFan was there, Heart of Wessex was there (first time I ever met them), Marv wasn't.
What a day that was!
And yes we pretended it was an 87, when in fact we didn't know, thank goodness it was
and yeah it was late so we could have just walked, typical! :roll:
