The Mendip contract was taken over by freightliner a few months ago, so apart from the Thursday DB Cargo Brentford ash train (and today's unusual STP stone which presumably isn't mendip), all the other day aggs mendip stone trains are freightliner now.Is it unusal for Freightliner 66's to visit the branch?
Nice shot Grizz, thanks for sharingCooksbridge...

Here it is at Newhaven day aggs.
Nice shots , the second run (6O24) appears to be a runner today, unsure of the Allox. My guess would be same consist and loco as Tuesday66107 working 6V00 Newhaven to Acton T.C. running 33 minutes late from Lewes, crawling up Hamsey Bank. KEA VTG 3207???, fourth wagon from the rear of the train had what sounded like dragging brakes (screaming) as it passed Hamsey AHBC. Might account for the late running.

I have been advised (by a Nuttal personnel) that the public stone path that leads from the south side of Mill Creek to the beach (which runs between the new port access road and the aggregates terminal) will close at the end of the summer to allow Phase 2 of the road building to be completed. Given that the path that used to run alongside the railway on the north side of Mill Creek has been closed since works started and the fact that the bridge pillars look as though they obstruct this right of way, it looks like there will be no access to Tide Mills or the beach from the Newhaven end.
Copy of the temporary closure notice for footpath 6 (north side of the creek).I guessed the dirt track closure was coming. But I would hope that the path that runs directly alongside the railway towards Tide Mills might open so as to retain the link - otherwise the area will be cut off from the Newhaven end...
6O13 should be a runner Thursday, 1322 into Marine, Return goes to Neasden on the VAR path. That's what I've heard.

Heard from a friendly gent I met whilst seeing 37610 at Lewes today, that Newhaven town box has scaffolding up and there is a road closure notice in for Saturday night. Looks like it'll be going this week. Didn't get time to check for myself but will have a look on Thursday whilst waiting for 6O13.
I think he said it's on one side of the box, not all around it , but probably worth getting some final photosScaffolding must have gone up this morning as it wasn't there yesterday.
Thanks for the heads up
66113 alloxed to the 6O13, the new key workers livery. First train into marine, new vynil livery what more could you want heh

Cracking shots. Here's some pics from Newhaven marine
Never having been to Newhaven I must say it must have been quite an interesting place when used for ferry services. How far did passengers have to walk to get on the ferries.
You’ve replied to a question from Nov 2015, which I think was answered on page 2 of this thread...Well off the BR boat trains from Victoria it was a case of get off the train and walk into the terminal at Newhaven Marine station, alittle further from Newhaven Harbour station off normal scheduled services. They used to run CEPs and an MLV, caught it a few times. In BR Blue and Grey and also occasionally Jaffa Cake. Happy days with a few beers on the go. Wish I’d taken photos but thought it would be there for ever!
