No capital letter at the start, no full stop at the end and the word 'didn't' is incorrectly typed.

You're just nitpicking. It is very easy to make mistakes when typing and I do it fairly often because I can't see the need making sure all the grammer and spelling is correct, its not an English exam. :)

Punctuation does make things clear though.

Eats, shoots and leaves.

Quite. Pandas are usually quite loveable in my experience, other than when firing shotguns into the air! ;)

From the rules:

Do: Post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing" by avoiding excessive use of punctuation; large/small, uppercase or multicoloured text; "txt spk" or emoticons

So yes, its preferred if you can use punctuation and form a normal sentence - but you don't have to be perfect!

And can we not turn this into a flame war please, try to stick to the subject...!

Cheers

Word on the street is that NO AXC HST will be used by GC on the upcoming extras. With the return of 067 and 123, this doesn't surprise me.

Am guessing this change of plan was down to the delivery of 43068 and 43123 to Heaton today by 47739. Is the plan that these power cars will work 1Z61 ex-Sunderland and 1Z26 return??

Don't be silly, of course I didn't. It was p*****g down up here and I was otherwise engaged. Never mind though, I'm sure the 47 will be back in the future!

Today i saw GC staff that appeared to be the crew of a First liveried 180..have they borrowed one?(haven't read the thread so apologies if this has been posted)
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
if he'd of said then i would never of asked that

Seeing this a lot..what's this use of "of" when it should be "have"

Implies someone from a company called "SAID" might be doing something, but never quite gets to! I believe you meant "if he'd have said that,I would never have asked this"

Sorry for being picky, but the written word is easily misunderstood, and leads to this!

I understood the post,by the way,English was,and is my favourite topic at times.

But not reading through a thread  as I pulled up this very point quite early on. You're right though, it seems to proliferate more and more as mobiles mean the spoken word is ever more dominant than the written word these days.

So what actually happened on Friday in the end?

And, does anyone know what did the 1918 KGX > SUN on Friday? I was heavily delayed arriving into London on Friday so couldn't do it. Curious if I'd have been bowled out or not though.

Due to some Northbound.Southbound services meeting at York and transferring passengers to the other set allowing it to return to its point of origin everything was in a bit of a state. An update on loco status for GC showed:

(at 1830)
43065 + 43067 were working 1A63 the 1730 Sndrlnd-KGX
43068 + 43080 at Ferme Park ready to work 5N29 to KGX
THIS SET WOULD THEN WORK
43068 + 43080 would then work 1A29 the 1918 to Sndrlnd

43084 and 43123 were both at Heaton T&RSMD out of traffic having been returned from Brush on Thursday. These power cars still require attention prior to re-entry to traffic.

180105 worked the additional 1Z61 working off Sunderland at 0830 and the return 1Z26 booked off King's Cross at 1404.

I Don't have a clue where 180112 was but I am guessing that it worked the other standard diagram but it is hard to tell without a full report. It should have worked 1N28 off KGX at 1650 but where it ended up afterwards who knows....

Is 43123 still out of traffic? I'm going to York to do a there-and-back GC bash on Wednesday and it'll be quite annoying if I see 67, 68 and 80 because 123 would be the only one I've not seen :(

Thanks for the update wensley. Had a feeling 068+080 would have done the 1918 on Friday in the end, since they turned out for the 0653 on Saturday.

Let's hope 123 returns to active service soon, been wanting to get it in the book forever!

Not a problem for the update. '123 should, hopefully, be back in traffic in the not too distant future although I am currently unaware of its status. Last I heard it wasn't too far away from having reapirs completed but I don't know if it will be operational this week. 180 rule continues... <(

Any ideas what will work the 11:27 off Kings Cross or the 12:30 off Sunderland on Wednesday? I'll be on both of them :D

I would imagine that at least one will be class 180 worked but couldn't be certain. May I just ask how you are getting from KGX to Sunderland in 1hr 3mins???
