156412 left Norwich Crown Point for Wolverton yesterday, when 412 returns then 156419 will go, and when 156419 returns 156418 will go. So if anyone wants any pictures of 156419 in the NX livery or 156418 in the EX CT livery its now time to get your pictures as over the next few months both these liveries will have gone.

Just a thought, but this means that once 156418 is done, that will mean that GA's entire Super Sprinter fleet is all in either GA or ONE colours. The livery variety in East Anglia will end in a few months it seems. Get pictures while you can people.

theres a 360 running around at the moment with a toothy grin on the end drawn in the dirt like a "clean me" thingy on a van or something ^_^

 I have to say the 360's are in dire need of a repaint and and refurb. The seats are threadbare! I think they look tattier inside than the 321's.

Shame 412 has gone, was always my favourite 156 and I was hoping to get a photo of it in its old livery. Ah well, at least I managed to get some of 418 today. 402 and 422 were the two 156s diagrammed to the East Suffolk Line for most of the day, so if you were in the Saxmundham/Darsham area at the right time you would've been able to get a photo of the two together!

Don't suppose anyone knows where I can get a list of what liveries the MK3s are in and their formations?

I tried ABRail but I'm not sure it's up to date as it's showing some MK3s in National Express when they are still in the ONE blue livery.

Right, here goes:
10229 is in Greater Anglia red & white:

12139 is in Polar Bear blue & white:

Everything else is in either NXEA silver & white or ONE blue.

NXEA silver & white

ONE blue

Of the 6 standard class buffet cars (TSOB), 10401 is in NXEA silver & white while 10402-10406 are in ONE blue.

Of the 1st class buffet cars (RFM), 10247 is in NXEA silver & white while all others except 10229 (in GA colours as mentioned above) are in ONE colours.

One rake of coaches was repainted into NXEA silver & white, but it has been disbanded and is scattered throught seveal sets currently.

All other coaches are in ONE colours.

The platform 5 books are very good for things like this.

Had this thread bookmarked for a while, great stuff, thanks!

Any plans to add 321s and 360s to the list?

Also, someone mentioned the long-term franchise livery. Here's a draft:

Cheers!

Hello, thanks so much for that picture, that's superb! Any chance of a link to the website it came from?

I have thought about doing the 321s and 360s, but ultimately decided against it because all the 360s are in the same colour scheme (First Group blue & white), while there are simply too many 321s to do :P Now there are no FGE or SL 321s left, they are only in 3 different liveries anyway. :)

Thank you very much for the interest in my thread :D

I'd rather assume that the 321s will be in the "red stripe/grey doors" variant. Though they've used what looks like a 315 for both, from the description I'd assume that only the mark 3s and possibly Stansted Express would get the grey stripe/red doors treatment.

That is not quite correct, please see the opening post for the correct livery lists. Also, as it stands there are no plans to repaint the 360s.

Sorry for not being 100% accurate, and thanks for answering my question :)

Welcome to the forum by the way :)
I update this thread regularly as stock is repainted. Word on the street is that the next thing to be repainted after the 156s are the Mark 3 coaches, then maybe the 170s. All 360s are in First Group blue and there are no plans to repaint them in the immediate future. All 321s & 317s are in a mix of Polar Bear, NXEA and GA colours (the last blue 317 is at Ilford being repainted currently). The 315s are, as you say, currently being repainted from ONE colours into GA colours.

Lost somewhere within Bank-Monument tube station,
I've heard somewhere along the line that it's pretty difficult to repaint the 360s, on account of them using special anti-vandalism paint (or something along the lines of that) when the trains were new. Is there a grain of truth in this?

I must say, the ONE blue colour has looked tatty since the day NXEA got rid of the coloured stripes at the end and superimposed the white band onto it...

That is completely true, First painted them in graffiti-proof paint that can't be painted over the top of, and so to be repainted the entire fleet would have to be sanded down to bare metal.

The ONE colours have not aged well at all, the 315s especially where the paint has actually started peeling off at roof level on some units.

Add onto this the fact that GA have the franchise until 2016.

Standby for three more years of "interim" white with red doors and lack of badly needed refurbishments on most of the fleet. GA simply won't be able to invest with such a short period. If at the start of the franchise it was known that it would be + years then they could have planned more.

I travel on West Anglia fairly regularly and the sheer variety of interior colour schemes is impressive - just a pity they are universally scruffy. I like the former Stansted Express blue the best - it's a bit different. The One/NXEA scheme is awful.

It is a real shame. Everything will remain in base livery for quite a while now, while it was supposed to be a temporary measure. Rumour has it that the Mark 3s will also gain this livery soon.
