GWR 158 cascade West

158954 today working:-

2C45 0828 Bristol TM to Penzance
2C56 1437 Penzance to Bristol TM

This is while there are 2 Car trains on the Cardiff to Portsmouth route but none of those are Bristol starters so they can only be formed with what is there.

I thought 954 would be working 2C45 then 2E68 to Exeter with 150263 so it could work 2U04 tomorrow morning... 158956 did that several weeks ago as it came back up to Exeter with 150001

That was the Winter service.

EDIT:- On the other hand, it could have been swapped to get it back to Bristol as a 3 Car rather than short forming Cardiff to Portsmouths

2E68 today seems to be a 3 car so could be 954 as it was the last service into Penzance so would be at the end of the station to leave first???

To be fair, Kernow isn't exactly an unheard of word. I'm Welsh and I know what it means. Indeed the First bus operation down there is called First Kernow.

158766 has gone down west today - West Wales - visting Pembroke Dock and Fishguard Harbour. Being hired by ATW as it was was trapped at Canton due to Engineering Work.

Yes it was a one day hire. Spent the night wrapped up warm on Canton; should be out on the 0630 Cardiff - Bristol via Gloucester.

763 ended up at Fratton last night; so likely both 158 2 car diagrams will be covered with a 150.

Why not ? 0630 ex Cardiff was a 158/9 job and then worked 2C67 starting ex Bristol TM due to the Engineering work

Wasn’t 766 blocked in at Cardiff over the weekend and borrowed by Arriva for a trip to Fishguard? If so, working out on the 06:30 would seem eminently feasible.
