Looks like tomorrow's the day for the first GWR 769 to be delivered to Reading TCD. Let's see if it runs...

At last - I was beginning to think the Class 769 project should be binned. This is because I sense that time and time that the train operators were told the 769's would be ready by this date and that date then the dates kept getting pushed back.

I hope the 769's prove more reliable than the Turbos on the affected routes given the already fantastic reliability of the 16x fleet!

I'd expect a path being put in the system at some point today, as the last time it was expected to arrive, there was a path in the system the day before arrival.

VSTP path now in RTT for a move to Reading TCD.
While I don't doubt that a train with headcode 5Z69 is potentially a drag of a 769, what has Burton-on-Trent Wetmore sidings got to do with class 769s? Has the 769s already been taken there? The locomotive only has 20 minutes between arrival and departure.

Reported elsewhere as due to be 50007 and 50049 working this.

The 769s for TFW are being delivered by road due to gauging problem that has arisen in the Birmingham area.

Indeed, reports the last one is being delivered so over to the GWR order I guess. The last few have come by road and towed into Canton once railed up

I take it GBRF have the GWR 769 delivery contract which seems odd as ROG had the TFW and Northen gigs.

It has arrived at Reading Train Care Depot. GBRF did well to find a pair of locos older.

Interesting that, following the speculation either way on the topic, it seems to have shoegear fitted? Did 319s only ever have one set of shoegear per DMS per side or has this been reduced from 2?

The plan was always to have Shoe Gear to be used "where possible"... And yes they only had one set on the front bogies of each Driving Car. See Here
