Not sure, but they were all 800/3sWhich type of seat did you have? The newer moquette one or the older cloth one? There's a massive difference in my experience.

It really didn't lose much time at all though, the only real delay was accrued sitting stationary at Par, and the time was soon made up, well before the electrified section I think?1a85 running with two engines out and losing time I notice. Not the end of the world right now but I hope they sort this out come December
Due to the way ATP conflicts with a faster approach into the DM/DML (Platforms 8 and 9) platforms at Reading, the flashing yellows into Platform 7 offer a much faster approach - coincidentally, I’ve recorded 21 minutes start to stop on a PAD-RDG before; unachievable on a HST!On the flip side..class 802s in electric mode setting faster journey times. On GWRs last HST day, the 16.03 to Plymouth IET quietly set a 21min 40 second time from Paddington to Reading start to stop. Current fastest HST time in Railway performance society archives since 2008 is 22min 49sec. Pre Ladborke Grove remodelling slowdown - the fastest HST time was 20min 46sec.

Oops! You have my brain to thank for that error; correct me if I’m wrong, but both the approaches to 7 and 8 are controlled by a flashing yellow sequence, which seems to allow a higher approach speed than the regular four-aspect into 9.There are no splitting distants for the approach to Reading Platform 7; and they would benefit platforms 7, 8 and 9 equally.

Not all. I was on 800306 tonight and it had the old moquette. The 800/3s have the newer moquette
Not really platform 7 requires drivers to slow to 15mph half way along the platform due to ATP and the signal being 99 percent red at the end of the platform so id say 8 or more likely 9 are best bet for a quicker time definitely not 7.Due to the way ATP conflicts with a faster approach into the DM/DML (Platforms 8 and 9) platforms at Reading, the splitting distants into Platform 7 offer a much faster approach - coincidentally, I’ve recorded 21 minutes start to stop on a PAD-RDG before; unachievable on a HST!
The 800/3s are painted; they were delivered in GWR Green from new. Will the 800s ever get painted properly? Or are they stuck with the green vinyl forever? I've noticed that the painted 802s look much better, without the random white gaps around panels etc.
Question, have 9 car IET coach letters been changed? There's a few I've seen run with coaches (A B C D G H J K L), instead of the usual (A B C F G H J K L)...
What's wrong with carriages E and F?
I believe they must have, I have seen a traincrew brief about having to manually change F to D, should the reservation data not load, so as all passenger reservations match. I think this only came into effect on Sunday (19th)
This is going back a while so I could be wrong but I thought I heard it at 900kW per powered vehicle (i.e. 225kW per traction motor), so 2700kW (3620hp) for a 5-car, 4500kW (6030hp) for a 9-car.Apologies if it's buried in this thread somewhere, but what is the power output of a 5 and 9 car set on electric?
I believe it’s the other way around, the software update has added a Coach D to 9 car IETs and train crew are to edit it manually back to Coach F. Unless I misread it, it’s not really my area of expertise.
From Sunday 19 May traincrew may be required to
manually re letter 9 car formations from coach F to D on
the TMS if the set does not load the SRS file
You got me wondering now, so had to go and reread it.
It should be D but if the reservations fail to load and Coach F is still displayed, then traincrew have to manually change to D
...........It seems strange though as the publicly available seat plans still list Coach F rather than Coach D.
Probably a bit of both hahaSeems to be happening an awful lot at Plymouth, is it the trains or something at Plymouth?
