Hello, some of you may be interested in knowing that Heathrow Express are currently recruiting externally for trainee drivers. Really unusual as their driver recruitment nearly always takes place internally.

I see that they are discriminating against people aged 18-21 and those under a certain height*.

But yes, im trying to get away from LU. All they're giving me is a CSA's position, so I am accepting that but keeping my options open - if I get better prospects elsewhere I shall consider it!!

If you fancy a move to Wales, then ATW are meant to be doing direct recruit drivers soon. Their salary goes a long way - I'm even thinking about it - if I can take the pay cut!

Daniel - I think you should apply anyway. Or have a word with Union's solicitors

I think its no longer being advertised (its not in the job section for Heathrow Express!)

Had my telephone interview today, said 2500 people applied and down to final 113!!

First Assessment is April 16th

unfortunately didn't make it.......real shame. i failed on the assessment day..... pity especially when you reach this stage.....

I passed the assessment day, was only one left in my group! Interview was very hard - 90 mins! Waiting for interview results.....

Hi I applied to the recent trainee train driver position at HEX which is still open to applications until 11 june 2010. I was wondering if this is the same one you have applied to? And how did you hear that you have a telephone interview with them soon.

A friend of mine had the telephone interview with them the last time they recruited a few months ago and siad it was a dozen or so questions on eligibiilty, e.g right to work in uk?, IS YOUR BMI BELOW 33?, HAVE YOU APPLIED BEFORE? can you get to work on time 3 am and so on.

Please feel free to correct me if this information is wrong as it may change, and don't quote me on it!

Thanks for the heads up ghost, basically it sounds like they ask you the same questions that's on your app! Yeah they have been really quick in replying, I applied about the 2nd or 3rd of June, last wed I think, and they phoned me today, I've got my telephone interview this Thursday. Did your mate hear anything after his telephone interview??
