The latest edition of Railway Magazine reports 42263 has been delivered to CF Booth. I thought this coach was at Kilmarnock undergoing refurbishment for ScotRail. it been rejected from the programme? If so, what is replacing it?

It has indeed been delivered to Booths after being rejected from the ScotRail refurbishment program. I’m not sure what has taken its place though, possibly one of the TS’s in the current “classic” rakes or one of those which made it up to Doncaster yesterday.

Had they started work on it??

Interestingly, none of those are down as ScotRail vehicles; all currently show as off-lease.

It had crossed my mind that they could be part of the extra sets for GW. But, there’s no TSD in that rake, nor are there any TGS’s (unless they were to use any of the 5 at Doncaster). And there is at least 2 rakes left with GW which could easily form the extra 3. I guess we’ll have to wait and see with these ones?

It had crossed my mind earlier today, if ScotRail are on set 17, and wanted could be working on sets 18/19 at the moment, these could simply be the replacement vehicles for the TGS in sets 20-26 then?

As regards the LNER sets which were formerly EMT sets, are there still two vehicles in Tyne Yard (TGS from EC64, and a TS from NL65)?.

Also, there was mention of two vehicles from EC64 going to a fire brigade training facility somewhere in Scotland - did that happen?

Thanks

Timings are now in the system for another LSL stock move on Wednesday from Crewe to Long Marston to Crewe again on Wednesday. This is believed to be picking up more Mk3s and a HST Power Car as well (Ex East Midlands), while another is in for an LSL move from Crewe to Eastleigh (Thursday).

That's a shame then. It'll be interesting to see how ScotRail get around the bike storage issue then, as the modified TS design doesn't seem to be going down too well.

I agree 40433 to Sim's 08.06.20. and you also have 42520 and 40434 as scrapped, is this not the same coach, maybe 40434 should read 40433. I hope i'm not being rude but may I suggest the latest updates are put in italics until the next update, otherwise 10/10 for this list.great stuff. Pete.

I have corrected 40434 to 40433. I can try using italics for new updates to see how that goes.

After a period of little movements, a scrap move from Long Marston is currently on the way behind 66735 on this:

Unsure of the formation, but it would appear to consist of 6 vehicles - 4 TRFB's & 1 TRSMB + anon MK3.

I'm surprised about the 409s, as they are / were First Group owned vehicles.

Difficult to see what use they would have for them - full-sized buffets are on the way out rapidly, and none of the power-door sets have them: GWR have nothing, XC have TCC (which is mostly first with a bit of standard, and a basic trolley kitchen), and Scotrail have what is mostly first-class with a small servery / catering area (and a guard's office). This is actually pretty similar to what Chiltern have on their loco-hauled sets (OK, catering area is a bit larger - but only about half the size of that on a 409xx) - and they only really have those because they inherited them from Wrexham & Shropshire, and they've now abandoned all catering so it's effecitvely just dead space.

I've got 40900/902/904 as First Group owned, and 40901/903 as Porterbrook owned.
