Yes I was being humerus re 57 but I know it's already been mentioned in one email to Mr Mellors... ! Merlin could be next on the cards for a 43.

See my post above about the background.

There are a couple of others out and about I believe - other than 43321 there is a link between them...

I'm not sure what that link is. Which other power cars have them?
Thanks,
Ross

43013 has the nameplate.

Can you guess which ones were at St Philip's Marsh? ;) ;)

I Might have had a few from Rugby today but Merlin livery? :p:p:p

In all honestly though, this and quite possibly 'Fag Packet' I will be a very happy man. This is how I first got interested in the HST, and this is how (apart from Dynamic Lines) I will remember them.

Looks like the issue is the red stripe along the body side isn't thick enough, the red around the cab looks about the right size.
Stripes on the bodyside are the correct dimensions, but the bottom edge of the falcon grey upper bodyside, and subsequently the stripes, are too low down on the body compared to a genuine BR paint job. The top edge of the stripes around the cab are at the correct height, but the bottom edge of the red stripe has been brought down to match up with the bodyside stripe, so is excessively wide.

43423 also has the HST40 plates fitted.

Two more to go by my reckoning!

Here's my pic of 43185 at the NRM this afternoon. Caught a bit of the speeches, and good to hear the 125 Group getting mentioned again.

Regardless of the slightly wrong stripe that looks excellent. Despite going across the level crossing at Exeter St Davids at least three or four times every day I haven't even seen the BR blue one yet! Maybe I'll get lucky this year some time...

Will they put both retro powercars on one set or keep them apart?

I believe they are going on one set initially. However, it would be nice if they were on separate sets so they could be stood next to each other on the blocks at Paddington!

Saw 43002 yesterday evening with a standard FGW blue at the other end so they weren't paired up at that point.

Or Penzance if both on the country end.

They are on different sets at the moment however it appears that 43185 will not be in service today.

43185 is allocated to First Class end of OC31 set, currently on SPM and expected to come out to play on 1L34 0900 Bristol Parkway to London Paddington.

The rest of that diagram is a return trip to Plymouth and a Bristol to finish, but whether the set actually stays on that diagram is not so clear.

It was timed so that 43002 and 43185 were next to each other at Paddington this morning. Unfortunately I've not seen any photos yet but imagine they will exist?

I read on another forum that 43002 was in platform 1, 43185 in 2 and one of the green sets in 3.

Wow. It's been a long time since that occurred. That brings back memories.

The green set left a few minutes before 43185 arrived according to several Facebook groups who were disappointed by it leaving before 43185's arrival

185 and the Green one were side by side, but this shot would have been blocked later by 002

You mean the one from Sam? Working fine here.

I just get a picture of an access denied symbol
