Jet2 is offering only beach destinations from Liverpool.
In fact I don't think even Ryanair and easyJet have got back to serving some major cities from MAN/LPL since Covid.
And there is less choice of reasonable flight times, and fares have risen steeply.
I'm not interested in flights before 1000 or returning after 1900, because I can't get to/from Manchester/Liverpool airports by train outside those hours.
I did do a pre-dawn Manchester-Kittila (Lapland) flight on a Jet2 charter earlier this year which was fine, and Manchester T2 is a decent start, unlike the zoo of T1/T3.
But airport hotels and car parks are very expensive these days.
Although I live under a well-used flight path up through east Wales into Speke, which is only 20 miles by crow, it's nearly twice that by road via Runcorn and nearly as far as Ringway - all North Wales residents have the same problem of getting across the Dee/Mersey, despite the apparent short distance.
Liverpool is a more compact airport than Manchester, but it is an awkward transfer from Liverpool South Parkway and can't handle multiple arrivals well.
The other regular visitor overhead here, often doing a loop before landing, is the daily Airbus Beluga.
Its collects A3xx wings from Broughton and delivers them to to Bremen/Hamburg/Toulouse for final assembly.
Good to see Wales's/UK's major export doing well.
