Yes they won work in the past then gave it back. Why bid in the first place? And sometimes JMB have not taken offered contracts because of them containing late hours / Sunday work. 247 seems to be fine for them other than the early start time.
Hi,
Can anyone confirm that the 800 from Nemwains to Shotts is an active bus service?
I'm looking to get the 05:45 bus. I have emailed and tweeted JMB however no reply as yet.
Thanks in advance
Don’t think they will have to worry about the 240 for much longer at least not in its current form. As for the 247 has there been any official confirmation they are taking the work on as they previously won contracts but never took them up. Also wouldn’t the contract come with spt vehicles?personally I would have newer vehicles on the 240 to keep running costs to a minimum to have a better chance of fighting First. older darts kept to the 41/56 as it's got higher passenger counts.

They had an enviro on the 240 a few week ago. They are introducing contactless soon aswell. That could get them more trade as that’s a big reason folk hold back for first
If max cairns had a brain he should challenge the 242, the 240 was a stupid road to go after especially when firsts goes all the way to Glasgow. Can’t see their Motherwell to Birkenshaw section lasting much longer, first have well and truly closed their gap. They are even copying coakley with a bus sitting at cardinal newman waiting on the schools coming out.
Contactless is being done due to the Smart Pay Grant Fund and a number of operators are going to be able to accept those cards soon. Round 2 is now open for applications until 14 June 2019.Just seen that on Twitter. Things starting to heat up in Lanarkshire.

The Smart Pay Grant Fund, part of our European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Low Carbon Travel and Transport (LCTT) supported programme, is open to transport operators, Local Authorities, and Regional Transport Partnerships that provide commercial bus services to the general public in Scotland.
The aim of the fund is to provide financial support to upgrade, replace or procure new Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETM) to accept contactless (cEMV) smart payments and support licence fees for this service.
This more convenient payment method makes access to public transport easier and aims to encourage passenger journeys and a reduce reliance on the car, lowering carbon emissions, and improving our air quality.
We are offering access to a £1.1 million Grant Fund, consisting of 40% ERDF matched by 60% Transport Scotland allocated budget, to support bus operators with their investment for the above purpose.
The Grant Fund will be made available for distribution over a three year period (2018-2021) or until funds have been fully expended, whichever is soonest.

Do you know what the change is?Service 41 changing from 23rd of april
Not sure just seen it on vosaDo you know what the change is?
ah thanks I was checking the pdfs. Guessing possibly timetable changes only
240s will have been busier due to first running holiday timetable will be back to normal next week.contactless seems to have the buses slightly busier. 240 at times but not sure how viable this run is. can't see much profits from it.
Possibly nothing in the pipeline atm for First changes in Lanarkshire though. Would be after the summer holidays now I would say.Is this a case of getting in first before First coming a knocking?
Nothing official but apparently they won’t be taking on any of the contracts they won.Has JMB made clear it doesn't want the 247? There really should pull the 240 and extend it to Holytown, Chapelhall and Airdrie.
