If I lived in Stone I don't think I would be able to rely on the current service to get me to work or place of education or any other kind of commitment. Theres one train an hour and if that's cancelled or late then you have real problems.
The same problem would seem to apply to all of the stations north of Wolverhampton that are served only by LNR, in fact Stone is slightly better than some in punctuality terms but is slightly worse in reliability.
Some stats' for northbound journeys for the last six weeks, taken from Recent Train Times:
- Penkridge Stone Winsford Hartford Acton Bridge
- Right Time arrivals % 19.77 20.26 19.90 21.68 29.29
- Within 5 minutes % 60.48 63.16 53.42 56.87 61.39
- % Ran 94.32 91.81 92.94 94.16 92.65
