Been a while since I used the EX2 as have had some holidays. I used it this morning and it was about half full. Use of the bus seems to have spread out evenly throughout Linlithgow now rather than just Springfield. Also noticed about half the bus got off at Gogarburn, I have never seen that before so it must be attracting usage there. Hopefully it doesn’t get binned, I couldn’t cope with going back to ScotRail.

EX1 should be extended from its Bathgate terminus . Maybe to an estate
EX1 would have maybe have been viable if it was extended however if it was extended it would take a good amount of passengers off the only current decently populated route the X18

EX1 should be axed with the X18 enhanced. As i've always said they're just competing with themselves and nothing more.

exactly what i thought. LC have 6 B5s for the X18 and now with 577 & 578 added to the LC fleet surely those could be use to increase the X18 frequency aswell

My commute takes me over Waverley Bridge most mornings at about 0830, it's gone from two vehicles waiting at that time to none, definitely running a different schedule than during the summer / festival.
festival period is always way busier and needs extra capacity, i thought those B9s were to keep CS frequency high to fight off BBT

I have a better seat than most when it comes to EX services and would agree Ex1 is a waste of a vehicle diesel etc etc. Pax numbers are terrible. It really is a shame its not getting used. But agree with X18, by far being the better performer

Does anyone know if Marine is still supplying the buses for C134 or is LMC doing it now?

Haven't seen managed to see a bus on the service, since the new term started, but did spot one of the LMC double deckers sitting at the shuttle bus stop at Teviot, engine off and blank displays, when I passed by there the other day...

Cheers, kind of makes sense really, not like it's a service open to the public, so probably more suited to LMC. Also means that 2 city buses are freed up for other things or as service spares...
Was Marine B7s that were doing it which has withdrawn 2 since

Fun fact

In the bus stop in the western general grounds, on the sign where the 113 terminated on Sundays it says “Lothian Country” 113 and this is the same sticker they use on the West Lothian services/43 and not the old one from the pre ECB days

I know this is clearly an error but just a random observation I noticed today on the 38

I was led to believe that Lothian had dropped the remainder of there Wright order?

https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman....-bus-supplier-enters-administration-1-5011449

Does this mean we will likely see B5TL/B5LH and some form of B8RLE in the future with ADL bodywork, assuming that it's easy enough as it's already been done putting a 400 body onto the b5lh and b8l chassis..
Bear in mind the Edinburgh Evening News aren't exactly regarded for their accuracy...

Was apparent to anyone with an ounce of sense it was never going to compete with the train ,there is no comparison in journey times ,pricing or quality.
Ex2 has a chance as linlithgow public are fed up with 38 service (with good reason) however long term it will struggle in it's current form to make any kind of profits.

As long as ScotRail continue to undervalue Linlithgow and the 38 continues to be a joke bus then I think the EX2 will do fine. It has picked up far quicker than I thought it would.
