First East Coast Trains are showing...
Weekday times, taken from 28 JulyI really hope they aren’t the actual paths, some 5 hr journey times there
I get that they’re open access, but 4h23-4h37 regular times aren’t too impressive when only stopping at 2-3 places.Weekday times, taken from 28 July
1S91 0545 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh 1010 4h 25m
1S93 1045 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh 1517 4h 32m
1S95 1218 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh 1641 4h 23m
1S97 1436 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh 1915 4h 39m
1S99 2018 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh 0046 4h 28m
1E80 0614 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross 1051 4h 37m
1E82 0911 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross 1348 4h 37m
1E84 1114 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross 1546 4h 32m
1E86 1612 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross 2047 4h 35m
1E88 1958 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross 0105 5h 7m
Clearly the last one is going to be pathed for engineering work running that late into Kings Cross.

There were very unlikely to get clean paths, you could probably take 20 minutes off that if they had.I get that they’re open access, but 4h23-4h37 regular times aren’t too impressive when only stopping at 2-3 places.
Yes, Edinburgh to Newcastle on Saturday night and Newcastle to Kings Cross on Sunday morning.Evidently some balancing ECS moves needed to make that work!

Those timings are quite competitive compared to LNER's fast journey times as well (this side of May 22 anyway) so if I were in First's shoes I wouldn't be too unhappy about them.I get that they’re open access, but 4h23-4h37 regular times aren’t too impressive when only stopping at 2-3 places.
The ECML re-cast in May 2022 is probably where they will be looking to get improvements. Although as every Operator wants improvements, the extent to which their paths are improved could be limited. Depends who shouts loudest...Classic case of 'get them on the graph' and then find incremental improvements over time?
Are the Leeds to London early morning EMR services still continuing?
They shouldn’t, as they are not in the franchise spec or the latest track access application. In post #107 their Twitter was quoted as running one evening service only. Are the Leeds to London early morning EMR services still continuing?
There appears to be a curious new service, an 0450 Fratton - Gloucester calling most stations, it even calls at Portchester.

That's what RTT is indeed showing.Current 2V52 ex Salisbury starting back so assume unit will be coming off Fratton rather than Westbury.
Hopefully they see some improvements. If they want to challenge the flights with budget rail they need to fight for the best possible path.Classic case of 'get them on the graph' and then find incremental improvements over time?

Shame they couldn’t have reinstated the opposite half hour train, even if it only operated on the busiest core section between Bristol and YorkStill no North East to South Coast services at all (or Bristol to Manchester for that matter) and half-frequency across most sections of route, a very disapointing show from CrossCountry! At least a full timetable on the Turbos suggests these services should hopefully one day return.
Having had time to look further, 2O01 0524 Westbury to Salisbury still runs but instead of working 2V52 hangs about until 0634 when it works 2G81 0704 Westbury to Cheltenham (via Melksham) starting back
Be interesting when SWR services get uploaded whether the 0640 Bristol service will follow that or if it's been retimed or just plain doesn't exist anymore! Obviously 2G81 turns right at Bradford Jct but that's a lot of trains heading in that direction at that time of morning!
But without the SWR Bristol train a 25 minute gap opens up in the Bath - Bristol service at what under normal circumstances was prime commuting / school transport time.Be interesting when SWR services get uploaded whether the 0640 Bristol service will follow that or if it's been retimed or just plain doesn't exist anymore! These are nominally in the timetable as starting from 7 June. Let's see about that...!
Depends on what you mean by publish? It won't appear on their website's timetable section for a while yet.Does anyone know when Avanti will be publishing theirs?
