Carstairs was not included after 2003 I think but trains still stopped there until recently.

Tamworth, Lichfield Trent Valley, Nuneaton and Motherwell are very limited so imo could be removed, I don't think the first 3 are included in VT timetables.

The 2008 Glasgow to Crewe still stops at Carstairs.l

It doesn't, it was scrapped as a call about 2 years ago now. I believe even when it did call there it was (for some odd reason) Friday excepted...

Edit - Just checked: it was scrapped in Dec 2013.

Why the evening working is set down only at Northampton I do not know. It would provide a helpful extra evening Northampton-MK service.

It's set down only at NMP so they don't have to operate replacement buses to MKC when they run it via the mainline.

I traveled on this service a couple of weeks ago and it went via the mainline and w had a frustrating 20 minute wait at Milton Keynes (where it is not set down only.)

It was a connection out of a n Edinburgh service I think run by TPE FX.
That's strange they no longer call. Does the TPE edb - carstairs still run? Maybe that's the reason behind it.

Nope, the Scotland-Manchester services were recast last year what with the introduction of the 350/4s and routeing via Chat Moss, everything now runs to / ex- Manchester. That explains it then ;)

Virgin allocate all their routes a letter in their timetables.

Route B goes to Birmingham and Shrewsbury from Euston (see the attachment in the OP).
If people want to be clever maybe I and the other SWT staff should start using our route numbers such as 32 and 75 so we can appear all superior like!

I don't see how it's being clever - it's what the entire thread is about.

I see that the 0535 Voyager from Lancaster that is going to form the new Blackpool service has been replaced by a Pendolino leaving at 0513. That means Preston now has 2 early services to Euston at 0533 and 0600.
