Ha, I haven't read this from the start only the last few months. Thanks, that does explain those units out and about without PRM mods. So back to my initial understanding, I assume these particular units cannot run with Pacers? As 142s can only run with modified stock.
As I understand it, that would appear to be correct ;) bet it's a logistical headache for the planners though!

There was at least one more this evening. I was on 18.14 out of Sheffield which had half refurbished 150 (still light green liveried) leading and fuiller Pacer behind, a guard in each unit. We passed a similar train going the other way, possibly the units above. Sorry, I was iin 'get to meeting' mode, so didn't take numbers.

No probs , the 2249 arrival from Picc was a solo 150

142078 with 150141 tonight on same diagram

Saw 142090 with hard to see 150 at Hathersage on 21.14 from Sheffield while waiting for 20.49 from Piccadilly with 142078 and 150141, snapped at Dore. There may have been as many as 6 on the entire train. The toilet on 150141 was out of service!

Once again, a 142 was on the 15:35 Kirkby to Manchester Victoria service today. This time it was coupled to a 156.

Class 142 sightings - none at all! Commuted a whole week on Teesside and didn't ride on a single Pacer. There was a nasty moment in the dark at Eaglescliffe when I thought I saw one, but I was mistaken.
On a steady diet of 156s now. Trains with bogies are a dream come true....

Something would have to go quite wrong for you to get a Pacer up there now, as they have no booked work North of York*.

(Just waiting for some wag to point out that Harrogate services run out of the North end of York station and might still get Pacers, or that Bridlington is technically North of York and gets 144s... you know what I meant!);)

It's a transformation! Teesside used to be infested with Pacers. If a 156 turned up on a Darlington - Saltburn it was like all your birthdays had come at once. Last year I was leaving for work an hour early to get on the 0634 Darlington - Whitby which was usually a 156, and then sit in the office by myself for an hour rather than face a bus seat 142 with no heat

I was also on 142004 which was coupled to 150127 on the 17:03 departure from Wigan to Victoria station.

From observations, it appears that the 10:35 and 16:35 services from Kirkby to Manchester Victoria (11:01 and 17:01 from Wigan Wallgate) are formed of a 142 and a 150 on Saturdays only. I have noticed that on weekdays it is a single 150.

Again today there was a 142 coupled with a 150 on the 15:35 from Kirkby to Manchester Victoria. (16:01 from Wigan Wallgate). Can anyone confirm if this is the same train that forms the earlier 09:35 from Kirkby to Manchester Victoria?

There was a 142 and 150 on the 09:35 service from Kirkby to Manchester Victoria this morning. It therefore appears that this is the same diagram as the 15:35 from Kirkby.

Seen more at the tip that is called MCV (16 platforms down to 6) than I did at MAN. Didn't know that the 802s went onto diesel before MCV when going north (or the one that I was on did).

Out in force around Manchester Victoria today!

035 attached to a 150 in the bay at Rochdale in what I assume is the 1242 to Blackburn. Passed another 142 attached to a 150 (at speed) going through Moston on the 1218 Rochdale-Clitheroe and passed one attached to a 158 going into Victoria which was I think the 1142 Rochdale to Blackburn.

Couldn’t get the numbers of the Moston or Victoria ones.

Plenty on view in Newton Heath also.
