Haven't posted on here for a while but thought i would give an update on my situation to give everyone waiting in the pool a bit of hope .
I originally applied around Oct 2013 for liverpool lime street. I passed the managers interview but there was a bit of a kerfuffle with my assessment which i won't go into but ended up with me retaking them in April this year. I was put into the dreaded talent pool and eventually called for a second managers interview in Aug due to the 6 month rule . I passed this and i am starting on the 29th Sept. So the moral of the story is that the talent pool does work even if it takes a while. I have heard from different sources that they need plenty of drivers in the coming year so hopefully most of you will get some good news soon.

Well to be honest its now been 9 month so does that mean i will have to have another interview again.

They sure do, we're still in the pool. Could be worse ! An email every now and then would be nice
No, the margins aren't that fine, the trainees recruited (indirectly) in relation to Northern Hub training requirements were taken on over the last 12-14 months, current recruitment is now settling down to cover natural wastage, of which there is quite a lot at the moment.
