Observation: if a 142 is connected to a refurb unit (150 in this case) then the announcements can be relayed to the 142 .

14X's and 15X's share the same couplers and electronics.

I was on 158754 the other day and it’s definitely had a full refurb including the display with oversized font - probably the same unit as johntea above.
Even the aircon worked!

I might have missed this already, but when did the GWR 153s start coming up? 153380 was at Sheffield today with decals removed but still in deep green livery.

It is still rare for a Northern 4 car 150 to be formed of 2 refurbished ones. There was an ECS from Newton Heath to Chester platform 1 at 05:30 this morning (platform 1 being the platform the Crewe shuttle usually uses.)

I think you’re finding an issue in something that completely isn’t an issue at all.

Surely that fact there’s over 10 refurbished/repainted 150’s means that there’s some probability they will be coupled at some point?!

Bearing in mind they have to be 150/2, as that’s all ATW sign.

I can guarantee the shunter at NH and the controller didn’t look and think there’s two refurbished units let’s piece them together and send them to Chester.

I didn't say it was an issue. I posted an observation and commented that it was rare. It's the user 978wta who said it should have been unbranded units.

Btw. Arriva Wales borrowed a purple 150 the other day for the shuttle. I stopped mine at the side of it. Hope this helps .

Came up in a move from Bristol last Monday, 153305 and 153373 to Neville Hill and 153380 continued to Heaton for Exam. Well documented on the Forum

150116, they might be doing PRM work done first before they go into the northern livery has some of the ex LM 150s had work done before they went to northern or it could end up has 150016 again or 150916.
