Northern DTM interviews certainly are very example-based. I listed the likely questions somewhere else but its stuff like "Describe a time you had to prioritise in an emergency"
For MDD Driving I got "Describe a time you worked as part of a team"as one of them

Cheers, I'll have a quick look through your past posts to have a look but I'm confident with questions supporting the job role so hoping it'll be right on the day with a bit of preparation of course! Appreciate the help from everybody.

When are people attending the assessments for the Manchester job? I'm currently on hold and presume any update will be after the scheduled assessments.

Also would anyone know if the 60 minutes rule applies to depot jobs? I've noticed and advert for Allerton, which according to google maps I am 40 minutes away from.

Hi guys, does anyone know if the emails have gone out for trainee train driver interviews for the Leeds depot, they said they would be in touch within 4 weeks and that was 3 weeks ago, I'm guessing I'm waiting for my thanks but no thanks email this week.

Hi all, I've read the forum for a while but this is my first post. I applied for the Leeds trainee driver position and got an email on 28th March saying they would let me know in 4 to 6 weeks if I'd been short listed. I'd be interested to know if other people have heard of they've been short listed for the Leeds positions yet?

I'm still waiting; passed the online comparison test and got an email on the 20th March saying will hear again 4-6 weeks (which is sodding typical as I am on holiday 3rd May for 2 weeks...)

Another new member (but long time lurker) here, I've also applied for Leeds driver, through to sifting, called HR yesterday and have been reassured that we should know by the end of the week.
The wait is really getting to me, but then all good things are worth waiting for!

Good luck everyone who's still waiting :D

Wasn't the training rumoured to start in June? Or was that for another role? If we won't be finding out if we're short listed until potentially the second week in May it doesn't leave them long to complete the recruitment process!

Hello everyone, I too have applied for Leeds, called HR yesterday to see if there's any news and the very nice lady said they're still sifting but we should get a response by the end of the week!

Fingers crossed we do and good luck everyone :D

My email said within 4 weeks from the 18th march, so should know this week, but others have said 4 to 6 weeks from the end of March so I have no idea. I'm sure people will start posting on here as soon as the emails go out.

Hi folks,

I sat the assessments today at DB Schenker along with four other lads.

A very challenging day by any mans standards.

Out of the five of us at the start, I was the only one left at lunchtime. :(

Thankfully, I've now passed the Driver Managers Interview and all of the assessments and now await to hear the next phase from Northern.

I think its just references and medical now.

This has been a hell of a day, but I'm naturally, over the moon. :D:D

Once again, can I echo the comments from fellow members. This forum is a huge source of information from some very decent and helpful people who go out of their way to give us some very useful information.

So, from me personally, thank you.

Cheers mate.

The GB was on paper.

Which I think is marginally better than doing it on a computer.

Good luck for Thursday. Let me know how you get on. :D

Thank you Jesslin. :D

I've applied for Manchester Piccadilly.

Congrats,

You may get a formal job offer and contract sent to you before your medical and job references are sorted out.

I started in Jan, had Medical in Feb and my references where only completed the other week, this happened to the group before as well.

You'll love the training in Bolton but it goes so quick:D

Thanks mate.:D

Yes, the test was the official MT4.1 Mechanical Comprehension. The questions were exactly as I imagined; gears, weights, balances, direction of travel, circuit boards etc.. and were much harder than the practice material.

Shame you had to pull out. Especially having got to this stage. :(

Thanks for the info Evoluzione. I've heard the same from another Northern Trainee driver.

Just had email for a DTM interview next Friday in Leeds; not long to prepare, v nervous! But due to an upcoming holiday, 3rd May to 20th May, it looks like I am snookered for the assessments should I get past the interview... anyone know how long between first interview and next stage? Looks like Eduardo's was pretty quick turnaround? Or even if they have various assessment days running and they could put it back a little? Might be getting ahead of myself of course (not all that confident re the interview) but I cant really bin off a holiday like this now (if i want to stay married that is)

Sounds like emails are going out for the Leeds position, not heard anything yet, anyone know if they usually send them over a few days or more likely on the same day. Ill be gutted if I don't hear anything this week, good luck to everyone waiting to hear.

Anyone who knows about the Northern Interview process... It seems they are very example based and we have lots of good examples of interview questions on this forum that I can work on. But I am struggling a bit for material; it seems there is a big likely crossover with the questions on the application form, should we be trying to find completely different examples to the ones written already on the application form?
