Interesting. Presume it isn't possible to get any more details? :)

On the NCT changes, no - I'm afraid not. The notification of changes have been posted on the Nottinghamshire County Council website - but no further details. Changes to the Yourbus 229 are on their website, but no mention of the future of the 228.

Haha as Yourbus are withdrawing the Y34, NCT start the N34. Will there be demand?!

I'd guess that the changes to the 1 is the N1 being withdrawn and replaced by the N4?

Which is why I don't think Councils should have such authority. It effectively means you have to be a large bus company to run a bus service.

Given the holdings in NCT, these rules stink of conflicts of interest to me.

Not really relevant to the current discussion, but there is still at least three spares on i4. 2 red and 1 mango.
Tempo SRs still not working properly?

Time to repaint some Volvos into the i4 livery?

EDIT: Also the red tempo was also on it. Only 9 out of 13 SRs out :|

Regarding the i4 Tempos, two haven't yet been delivered yet and at least 1 has been back to Optare for some modification work. 727 (the mango volvo) and 726 (the standard Trent Barton volvo) are technically i4 buses until the two new ones arrive.

Regarding 500 on the Red Arrow, this is actually quite regular. It is said to be the largest Solo SR ever made in terms of capacity and therefore it does seem to cope on Red Arrow but also it is the highest spec. spare at Derby; the only one with high backed seats which makes it quite suited to the route.

The Solos have been used one or two times on the Red Arrow before. Along with Darts (when trent had them) and occasionaly a N+D tank (palidin) has been spotted on it.

Felix 05 is currently in the garage, its broke again. It got involved in a little skirmish near Pentagon Island I think it was. With another car and a useless driver who decided to stop for no reason. Causing the bus to hit the back of it.

Several N+D double deckers, as many as 14 I think, are currently down in London. They are part of the many extra buses (nearly 4000 odd isn't it?) that have been hired from up and down the country. They are on park and ride I belive.
They havn't been wraped or painted or anything. So they're some buses down in London that say Notts+Derby on the side (a local lad like me quite enjoys the thought of that). Literaly all they did was download the routes for the electronic destination blind and probably pop a card with 'London 2012' in the front window, thats about it.

I thought some were in Manchester or Leeds?

Didn't know that 500 was a regular on Red Arrow!

2 Tempo SRs still haven't been delivered?!?!

From what I was told there's deffinatly some down London way. Havn't heard anything about Manchester, but thats not to say there isn't any up there.

The delay with the Tempos could be Optare making sure they work properly before they send them out.... they might be there a long time then!:lol:

I think Notts and Derby only sent drivers down to London but had a fleet of double deckers working on park and ride shuttles for Old Trafford for the football, with these buses being outstationed at Dove Holes for the duration of this contract.

I haven't seen any photos of Notts and Derby buses in the collections of pictures of Olympics services that I've seen, nor did I see any myself when I visited the Olympic park, but that does not necessarily mean that there aren't any there

NCTs service changes for anyone that hasn't seen them: http://www.nctx.co.uk/2012/septemberchanges/

This then prompted me to look at the timetable for the 48 which has made me realise that there is pretty much no chance of missing the 0715 bus from Clifton (arr city at 0755) (MF) since it is duplicated twice, meaning there is three buses on this run

Redflyer is also being cut back and costs cut by interworking

Increase in Red5 frequency is to compensate for the down sizing of vehicles, the tridents have given up, so cheap Scania buses are due to replace them.

The Gemini is just in another of Premiere's tatty temporary liveries from a previous owner, it's for uni hoppers.

Yourbus have lost the 228 to Premiere alrhough it now only runs to Bulwell.

Yourbus are also due a number of ex London citaros.

The Gemini is ex-Wessex Connect, FJ57CZB - it's dual door too.

According to the Derby Bus Depot the new Scania arrivals are OmniCities - I'd assume therefore that they will be some of the ones Dawson Rentals have in stock (where Premiere seem to acquire most of their vehicles from).

Interesting to hear about the Yourbus Citaros, presumably not articulated examples?

The ones on Woodborough Road don't like showing things in the middle row now haha

The one at the 1,2,3 stop on Beastmarket Hill is just too messed up to describe! Or at least it was yesterday

No, 6 rigid 53 plate examples, replacing darts and tridents

Thanks for confirming.

I know the Tridents are undergeared for what they are used on - only having 3 speed boxes, which requires them to be thrashed half to death when working at Tuxford depot. They could really do with smartening up inside too, some of the seating fabric is threadbare and filthy - and they've been like that since they got them two years ago. Hardly the Yourbus image they were initially going for!
