Queen Margaret University is only 2 minutes walk from Musselburgh station.
I know but the service to Newcraighall is half hourly so might have worked instead of a taxi.

Any news on work starting on the new taxi rank in New Street car park or platforms 5 & 6?
Work will soon begin on a project to lengthen platforms at Edinburgh Waverley for the introduction of new longer, faster, greener trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow and on the East Coast main line.
Network Rail has awarded Carillion the £23m contract to deliver the extension works at platforms 5 and 6, to the east of the station, and 12, to the west, as Waverley prepares for Virgin East Coasts new Azuma trains and ScotRails new class-385s.
The enhancements are being delivered as part of the Scottish Governments Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) and the Department for Transport-funded Intercity Express Programme (IEP).
The infrastructure works, and new rolling stock, will help to transform travel on both routes increasing passenger capacity and reducing journey times by around 10 minutes between Edinburgh and Glasgow and by around 20 minutes between the two capitals.
Preparatory works to clear redundant structures and reposition the escalators at platform 11 will begin in April with main construction work on extending platform 12 due to commence in May, for completion in December 2017.
The extended platforms 5 and 6 will be completed in 2018, while the project will also deliver track remodelling work to allow more trains to use platforms 10 and 11.
Scottish Transport Minister Humza Yousaf said: This upgrade of Edinburgh Waverley is part of the wider improvement programme, which will bring real benefits to passengers and maximize the potential of this historic station.
By extending the platforms, we are paving the way for the introduction of the new, longer, electric train fleet between Edinburgh and Glasgow and on the East Coast main line. The new trains will bring greater capacity to Scotlands busiest rail route and cut journey times.
I look forward to the work being delivered with the minimum amount of disruption.
UK Government Rail Minister Paul Maynard said: These improved platforms at Edinburgh Waverley station will enable new Intercity Express Trains to operate, providing more reliable and efficient journeys for passengers while helping to protect our beautiful countryside from pollution.
This is a great example of the work which is being done across the union to give passengers the improved rail services that they want.
Rodger Querns, Network Rail programme director, said: Edinburgh Waverley welcomes nearly 30 million passengers a year and the work we are delivering will help to make sure the station can continue to play a vital role in the economic and social life of the capital.
Completing such a significant piece of engineering work in the heart of one of the countrys busiest stations will be a significant challenge for our engineers and contractors and we are committed to carrying out these enhancements as quickly as possible and with the minimum of inconvenience for passengers.
Ian McConnell, the ScotRail Alliances programmes and transformation director, said: Our new fleet of faster, longer, greener trains will deliver a truly enhanced experience for our customers.
The 200 new carriages will help to reduce journey times on some routes, are more energy efficient than the current diesel trains and the extra carriages will mean that seating capacity on our busiest routes is greatly increased.
David Horne, Virgin Trains managing director on the east coast route, said: The introduction of our state-of-the-art Azuma fleet will enable us to transform Edinburghs connectivity, ushering in a new era of comfort and style on cross-border intercity routes.
Customers will see regular Edinburgh-London journeys accelerated to around four hours and an increase in the number of destinations available directly from Scotland.

It doesn't look too bad to me. Would be nice to see some renderings though to bring it to life properly. Is it just me or does platform 12 look like it's in a bit of an awkward place?
Is it just me or does platform 12 look like it's in a bit of an awkward place?
It's not exactly creating much space on the existing platform and station concourse, with the barriers and all as well.
And talking of Escalaters, where exactly is the P11 bank relocating to?
I've probably missed this somewhere, but where's the new platform 10/11 crossover? I thought there was already one just after the platform runs out?
Right at the end of the P11/12 structure. It'll allow trains to come in on the Platform 11 line and then switch over to 10 just before the start of the platform. At the moment, Platform 11 can only be accessed from the same single line that serves 9 and 8. The more parallel movements that can be done, the better.
I'm confusing myself here. Is this at the east or west end?
I was thinking the wrong end then. So am I correct in thinking this is to allow a train to arrive on 10 from line X?
Indeed it will.
Western end. Platform 11 becomes 7 after a scissors crossover halfway along, with 10 facing 11 and the Klondyke siding facing 7. The new crossover will boost capacity on the southern-western side of the station where most non-Fife trains terminate or run through. It will now be possible for a train to be leaving Platform 8 or 9 heading westwards at the same time as one heads into 10.
Shame that they couldn't extend platform 3 as it would save a bit of a walk.
Or arriving in P7 from Glasgow in the front coach of six car shuttle and having to walk back from Dunbar, or that's what it feels like! That walk is nothing compared to when you take a trip in VTEC first class and come in on 1 or 2!

Is this crossover only going to connect the lines leading into Platform 10 and 11?
As the pointwork stands now, any trains arriving into Platforms 8, 9, and 10 from the West need to cross over to the opposing direction Southern track using the Princes Street Gardens crossovers to go through the most Southernly of the Mound tunnels.
If the crossover allowed access to Platforms 8 and 9 then this would save movements at the Princes Street Gardens crossovers and would allow train using these platforms access to two tunnels instead of one which would be beneficial during engineering works.
The same is true for platforms 18, 19 and 20 with trains departing to the West through the most Northerly tunnels.
