I nearly forgot about that Carstairs being remodeled. Can't remember the last time I went to Glasgow/Edinburgh. What's it like passing Carstairs towards Glasgow on Avanti now compared to the previous track layout?
100/110 EPS straight through. Platforms now on loops. There’s a plan here in the remodelling thread:

I had a quick search for an onboard video, but without success so far.

And what about the 807's?
No idea, still only one unit 807002 that has been seen ah The factory at Newton Aycliffe, and no idea what stage of production is for the others.

And why such a lengthy delay?
Drivers have apparently not started training on them yet, it’s actually train managers who are training at the moment. Unsure who is driving them if Avanti drivers are not.

These workings on Wednesday 13th were by 805. Not sure if it was a singleton or a pair but 007 was noted by someone transiting Stockport on an up train.

First time for 805s on the Manchester lines?

Path is in for an 807, presume 807002 to be hauled (believed to be a 69), from Merchant Park to Oxley on Monday 18th December.

Path below from Real time trains site:-

On Wednesday 13th was indeed operated by 805007 (was also a solo 'white' set the following day, but did not catch the number). From progression through the signalling blocks then possibly both climbed Madeley bank southbound from Crewe in diesel mode (but on the Thursday when passing through Chelford on the Stockport to Crewe section noticed that the rear pantograph well was illuminated, although could not see the actual pantograph). Intriguing.

Judging by the way it was gaining on its [timed at] "45mph max" schedule it wasn't hanging around!

I suspect it was timed at 45mph for the drag to Darlington. It certainly wasn't timed for 45 mph for the rest of the journey. Carlisle - Preston is 90 miles (so 2 hours at 45 mph) and it was timed to take 1 hour 41 minutes with a 26 minute stop at Oxenholme (which it skipped).

By heck it went a scenic route!

Better than the other option the lone EMU could've taken, via London
Guess at least it helps it gets some miles in.

Looks like the wait at Oxenholme would've been to let 9M56 1252 Edinburgh to London Euston past, but instead it let it past after Wigan.
Yes this is true as I was on this train and the 807 was just lurking in the shadows after Wigan as we passed it.
