I suppose the only other option that might have been available either at the time or a few years later (although quite a mad and near impossible solution) was to T+T with modified redundant HST power cars but then you have the problem of requiring 2x the locomotives.

why should refrigerated wagons make any difference. They already run in the consists of trains already hauled by 66/70/86/90

I don't think there are any actual fridge WAGONS within the UK but there are plenty of fridge containers appearing on container trains.

Surprised nobody mentioned/suggested that TPE could run LHCS services with them, and strengthen some 185 diagrams...

Since COTS is the Colas 37 pool, and Colas' 37s exclusively work NR test trains, it would seem likely that that is the intended use for the 67s.

Isn't there still the minor issue that both have them have been stored for the best part of a year with, what another poster claimed earlier in the thread, fairly serious mechanical issues?

I heard it was absolutely shagged wheelsets keeping them on shed, but then again, I don't work for DBC so it could be absolutely anything.

Both of the two Class 67s have been painted into Colas Rail livery.

Very nice. No doubt these will be named quite quickly being some of the newest locos in the colas fleet.
Thanks,
Ross

Whilst it would've been pointless for Colas to do it, i have to say they would've looked good fitted with new headlights allowing the front to be orange
