Cheltenham is well known as the home of GCHQ, the UK's centre for cybersecurity and signals intelligence. Also well known is that its predecessor was GC&CS, the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park.

Newton Blossomville was also once under the jurisdiction of the Newport Pagnell Poor Law Union.
What a lovely name. Unfortunately nothing to do with blossom but a previous lord of the manor.

Sir Thomas Armstrong, the famous musician, lived here for a while, but is buried at nearby Olney.

Close to Rothiemurchus, the Cairngorm Club Bridge is an iron footbridge built by the climbers' club in 1912 to cross the Am Beanaidh.

Another settlement with a footbridge constructed for tourism purposes is in Cornwall at Tintagel.
