there was an advert in the Telegraph and Argus in Bradford which is also going to be publishing tokens too.

There is a potential problem with the Northern newspaper offer application forms. Under old Northern, the "ID Number" box on the form got automatically filled in if you were logged in to the website. With the new Northern website this isn't happening, for me at least.

Next to the box it still says "Invalid without ID no." During one of the previous offers my form was rejected at a ticket office for this ID number box being blank (this time because the form only printed properly using Adobe Reader and not Apple Preview that I had used) so I had to go back home and reprint it. I hope ticket offices won't be rejecting forms with the ID box blank this time around, because it looks like all of them will be.

I have noticed this too. Fortunately I still have a few spare forms I printed out from Northern's last offer. They have my ID number and address details on them. Perhaps I could still use them?

It also seems odd that Northern's new website doesn't have a log in option and therefore don't have our personal details to add to our printed forms.

a link to all the newspapers doing the Northern Rail offer.
https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/newspaper-offer

As usual, with the exception of the Worksop Guardian in the far north of Nottinghamshire, there are no participating newspapers in Nottinghamshire or as far as I can see Derbyshire.
About 2 years ago I contacted Northern about this and I actually got a very apologetic reply and shortly after tokens appeared in the Nottingham Post. This only lasted for the one time and they have never appeared in the Nottingham Post again. With Northern running the hourly service from Leeds to Nottingham I would have thought that some Nottinghamshire newspapers should be included as indeed should Derbyshire newspapers for travellers from Alfreton and Chesterfield.

You can type your details in to the form page and that is what is downloaded. A little more fiddly I would say but it does work.

Just had a look in this morning's Lancashire Evening Post and there is no voucher. Which makes my trip to Leeds today a bit more expensive.

I wonder how much extra revenue Northern Rail make with people traveling around the North picking up newspapers to get the tokens?

Just wasted £1.40 on 2 copies of the LEP!!

Disappointed. I was planning a trip to Carlisle, Leeds and York for tomorrow (Tuesday).

Luckily I didn't spend £7 on 10 copies. I don't even read the paper.

I think tomorrow morning I will stick 2 of my old tokens on the form and see how I go.

Has anyone managed to pick up any tokens today? If so, would you be able to post a photo of the latest tokens.

Cheers.

EDIT: Old token on top, new ones below.

Despite being advertised last week on front page, there is NO token in this weeks Leyland Guardian . I know its not on the list of Johnston Press participating papers (its sister paper Chorley Guardian is , due out Wednesday ) Still not had a reply as to why no tokens in Lancs Eve Post...

Are they only in Yorkshire papers ? Are they restarting the War of the Roses ...??? :)

The Newsquest list does seem to be only Yorkshire and the North East and seems to exclude all North West papers. Now that Blackpool, Windermere and Barrow have transferred to Northern the £10 tickets are more useful than they would have been in the North West.

I think the last time Cheshire was included in a limited time Northern promotion was the Greggs doughnut promotion which was years ago.

They're in Blackpool Gazette, I'm told.

Despite them not being included in the list the Cheshire Newsquest titles out today do have the tokens, the first time they've included them. The front page shows a picture of two Pacers with a headline along the lines of Unlimited Travel £10pp.

When you buy your Weekender ticket from the Southeastern website from now until 27 May 2016 you get a 25% discount. Just choose a Weekender ticket to travel on any weekend from now until 27 May.

Travel Off-Peak on a Friday or Saturday and return the next day. Outward travel is valid Fridays after 09.30 or Saturdays on any train. For your return travel, your ticket is valid on any train on Saturdays or Sundays. You can also stop off at any station on your way home which means more opportunities to explore at no extra cost. Unfortunately GroupSave cannot be used in conjunction with this offer, but railcard discounts are available.

Terms and conditions: http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/offers-and-destinations/weekenderterms/

I had my Northern newspaper offer form, that I printed out last week, rejected this morning for the ID box being blank. I thought that this might happen. The booking office, which according to NRE opens at 0845, opened up at 0900ish with me hoping to catch a train at 0908. The staff member on duty wouldn't budge and suggested that the only thing he could suggest is that I called Northern customer services for advice. I quickly found a payphone and did. After a few minutes on hold, Northern told me to write the code FF2016 in the box and to tell the booking clerk that this would be OK. That was accepted, ticket issued and I ran to to the platform just as my train was pulling in. A close call and a trip almost ruined.

Looking again at the forms on Northern's website today, it seems that they have been amended and all have the FF2016 code on them now. If anyone is going to use this offer then make sure that your form has an ID code on it. If it hasn't then try re-downloading and printing it again (or just write the code in).

Thanks, you're right.

By the way, if anyone is short of tokens I should have a couple spare.

Mine was accepted without the code...

Quick question for anyone who's picked up their tokens from the Yorkshire Evening Post - what time do copies normally begin appearing around Leeds station? Thanks
