Both a long dart and 34218 taken off Moorclose this morning around half 9 simultaneously and replaced by 16870 and 22108. Both have been on for at least 3 runs of the Circular now. How is 34218 coping away from 50?.....!

34218 is on Harrington / Seaton..... not seen that for a long time! 47024 has disgraced itself on the annex, threw its belts.

20945 was on 31 last night there, with 47005 on night 30.

Got itself together and replaced 16870 on 51 by mid-morning. 47006 seemingly appeared for 22108's replacement on 50. Two Solo's ending the day on Moorclose, and not 34218 in sight!
Poor 34218, needs a Solo replacement from somewhere sharpish!

47024 was on 50 when I drove through town at 11:45, with 16870 still on 51, but by the 15:00 51, 47024 had made its way onto there.
34218 was on Harrington & Seaton last week, got took off 50 to replace 47005. 47005 ended up doing catch up runs though, 34218 was always late back when it went out on time, seemed to struggle to get up Calva and the smaller hills around Salterbeck.

Nothing of great interest a few days ago. 16776 for Preston & a Solo spring to mind but was just the usual.

Hopefully, it replacement for the unrelaible Optare Solos.
Then, I can laugh at all the drivers for driving a manuel bus, that laughed at me for driving a manuel coach on Town Services.

It has been suggested today on another forum that Preston are due to get Scania E300s for citi 3, anybody have any thoughts?

Oh interesting. Seems odd to get Scans for the 3, why not normal E300s...?
Not sure when they are due to be delivered, think if they are the last batch of this order it'll be around April next year!
Thoughts are then that the MANs and Scania Esteems will be heading out of Preston.
That does depend slightly on what exactly the Kendal Tridents replace.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the Tridents at Kendal, espically as some other companies in the stagecoach group have been selling off they Tridents recently, whilst some companies with-in stagecoach group are still operating Leyland Olympains on normal every day services.
I'd have thought maybe the Esteems would stay in Preston, go on 150/151, seeing as it was rumoured they were expecting Chorley's Darts to operate it, but that was seemingly never the case. 25226 was running it when I was in Preston not too long ago, with a Solo.
8 Scania's in, 7 MANs and 1 B10M on fleet, hopefully the MANs to Cumbria to see off some B10M's.
I've heard it'll be 8 Tridents to Preston to operate 59 and 61, replacing the 8 N reg Oly's. The other 2 are believed to go to Morecambe to replace 14196 and 16351.

I would say somebody high-up in Management in Stagecoach
The only Tridents that I'm aware of leaving the group are London (which is a bit odd). I believe they have a contract with Ensign bus/ operate a "most economically advantageous" tender system
And some Tridents from Northampton which were/are owned by the council.

First day of term for Lancaster Uni saw a predictable 'bus rush' with hundreds or students standing at the infirmary waiting to get up to campus by 9am. I was stood there for 25 mins and in that time a 3 a 4 a 2 and two X1s sailed past full to capacity. 16351 came of a Ripley school run and did an extra 2 from Bowerham.
I imagine it will calm down within the week and no doubt SC and the Uni will reevaluate how many extra runs they put on in the mornings/evenings to cope with the sheer number of students travelling to and from campus.
Also spotted 22823 looking very shiny after coming back from re-paint, it's left side indicator was stuck on constant orange.

I would have thought that Scania E300s would be a little excessive for the 3. Standard E300s would surely be a better vehicle type for the route. But then in saying that it is a bury route, I suppose the extra capacity the Scanias provide would be more ideal.
There would have to be a change in route for the 150/151 if larger vehicles were deployed full time. The extra capacity is needed on the route, but larger vehicles are just to big for some sections of it. We could almost do with a double deck Solo.

As far as I'm aware, the Scanias seat less than a standard E300 (43 vs 44)...
[OK, so 1 seat isn't the end of the world, but still it's a disparity]

I'm getting confused now between the different types of E300. Are the standard ones the ADL E300s?
According to the Stagecoach Handbook (not necessarily correct I know) the ADL E300s have ether 44 or 48 seats. The Scania E300s are to have 48 seats, while the MAN E300s have around 46 seats.
Nothing seems to be consistent between vehicles which are supposedly the same.

Then when MAN fell out of favour, the all-ADL E300 became standard. Again this comes in 12m or 12.8m lengths. The 12m originally seated 46 but this was reduced to 44 after some minor design changes (not sure exactly when). The 12.8m seats 49.
Finally, we have the Scania E300. Scania's own press releases states 43 seats, this is consistent with the same-length all-ADL E300 losing a few seats due to the larger Scania engine.

Carlisle's 20540 on 300-302's after a faulty Scania was pulled from service in Carlisle. It's nice to see "Maryport 302 for Carlisle" on the front of a flip dot. It just had to show "Workington 302" going to Whitehaven, with Carlisle not having Whitehaven 302 programmed into their displays. Might be worth getting it put on for next time they have to loan something to Lillyhall when a Scania breaks

Traveller's have some ex-Parks B12BT Panthers, which are identical to the Megabus examples.
They also have 2 very odd B12MTs - these are standard, normal length (for a 2-axle coach - 12.3m), but have a tag axle on the rear...looks very odd!
I believe the steering rear means there is no difference in turning circle between at 12.3m B12B and a 15m B12BT

Carlisle's 104 branded 24124 being repaneled in body shop, and Chorley Solo PX06 FXY (I think) fully rubbed down being taken through to paint shops.
On the allocation front, although not major at all, 34219 on 69's, rather than the usual 51 plate Solo. 47018 is out on Buttermere 77, while 47722 is getting its 21 day service.
