That’s what 9101/9104-8 and 8880-6 carry

Repaints were due. The units hadn't been repainted since new. if Stagecoach had retained the franchise the plan was to repaint the 450s into a blander version of SWT livery.

As for those units that are currently running around in SWT livery and not subject to the current repaint programme:

Class 455 - will be withdrawn once sufficient 701s in service. Last repaint was only a few years ago.
Class 458 - will be repainted when converted back to four cars.
Class 707 - moving to South Eastern
Class 158/159 - seemingly refurbishment /repaint not sanctioned by the DfT.

Is that confirmed about the 158/159 situation?

I must admit I wasn’t a fan of the SWR livery when I first saw it. But it has really grown on me - in fact I really like it now. The later version of the 450 livery definitely looks better than the slightly older, non-compliant one. I suspect the rest of the 444s will have a similar thing with gaps in the blue band where it meets the doors as and when they get round to being painted.

I’ll still always retain a soft spot for SWT’s liveries though. And I would have liked to see what Stagecoach would have done had they kept the franchise.

That said, it does seem those who have the power to decide how our trains look aren’t interested in, or don’t want, creativity and boldness and rather would like to see more basic and transferable schemes. Which makes sense, but a shame nonetheless.

With regards to the ‘End Men’s Violence Against Women’ decals, they are appearing on a lot of 450s, apparently the following have it:

It’s funny, so behind on getting the whole fleet painted, yet plenty of time to update a current livery with a minor change for a bit of PR. Maybe get the desiro fleet done first

Changing four bits of vinyl over the weekend is a quick job. There are always two units stopped for paint. This was easily done without interrupting the painting.

I couldn’t care less what it is so stop looking for something that’s not there, it’s not like it was already painted with a similar style anyway. Just seems a waste of space for an old unpainted unit.

The unit has already had a full repaint into SWR colours. It's not an unpainted unit.
