Although the current SWR livery looks very smart, for me there's definitely some nostalgia for the bright colours of SWT

I agree - and I only just caught 083 in time (post #3408), as it's now in for repainting.

I also liked the odd pairing of 444 + 450 on some Portsmouth Direct Line fast services. Post #3382 has 3 examples taken in June, two of where both units are still in their SWT garb.

Re U.450095 repaint dates - arrived in Bournemouth Depot paintshop 17/08/22 & departed on 01/09/22.

U.450050 was off its repaint this morning & on Waterloo/Bournemouth shuttles all day ending Bournemouth Depot.

In answer to your question, on average it takes approximately 18 days to repaint a Class 450.
I have all the dates of units that have been painted upto date, unfortunately I dont know in advance which unit will be next,
its upto the maintenance supervisor in Northam Depot, I observe which units are entering Bournemouth Depot around the 18 day
period and work it out from there.
U.450121 which is being repainted at the moment, spent a couple days on the Lymington Branch before going in, on a captive diagram.

Unfortunately the painted SWR livery doesn’t appear to be wearing well. Taken of a 444 unit. I don’t know if standards have slipped recently as Bournemouth were originally known for having a good reputation.

It’s the plain painted livery not vinyl. It looks dirty underneath which suggests it hasn’t been primed very well.
