It was at Stafford heading north at about 9pm last night, then Crewe about 20 minutes later. A Freightliner Green Class 90 was on the front...

Think it may be out for a while over the next week, a 390 had a run-in with a tree in Scotland yesterday and requires attention to the front.

Jacked at Watford on the 1230 Brum - Euston, loco run round and went ECS to Euston. No reports since.

Interesting to see LM's Twitter feed yesterday referred to it as the "Pretendolino" (it had failed at Watford so was delaying LM services IIRC) - I don't think I've seen it referred to as that in any "official" context before (only by us enthusiasts)

Probably because the set off that goes empties to Oxley (5G39) which isn't where you'd want the Mk3 set and might well be a Wolves crew which won't sign it anyway.

Is this a new thing from the timetable change? Does it affect Friday nights?

I think it's more likely it's covering for the broken 390 ( the one that hit the tree ) so they're keeping it close to London in case they have to put it on any extra services?

Probably no different from before the timetable change. There is still a Friday only VT 18:57 pendo service to Manchester which presumably becomes available due to 1K39 being the Mk3 set.

Yes I am aware that the extra Euston - Brum diagrams are only temporary with only (on paper) 1K39 booked a 90 on a Friday. What I meant was, is the ECS booked to go back to Oxley on a Friday, if so will it effect that train in the future?
