We decide we liked the look of that Forfar place a few miles back, so return there on the first available 20 service at 1440, arriving at Forfar, at Royal Bank of Scotland on East High Street at 1502 Wednesday afternoon

We backtrack on the 2158 Scotrail departure, travelling to Keith arriving at 2234 Wednesday evening

As an aside, First Scotrail's website TT gives different times

We then leave at 10:31 on 2E67 (FSR service from Airdrie to Balloch) which we take as far as Glasgow Queen Street.
We need two more items to complete this posting:-

1)... Time of arrival at Glasgow Queen Street. This is 1052

2)... Concurrent date that is running on the quiz, which is always shown at the end of each posting. This is Thursday morning.

We next board the 1103 First Scotrail service to Dalmuir that arrives there at 1127 on Thursday morning.

At this time of the day, we find that continuing bus services are limited, so the following morning we board the 0705 National Express service 328 to Blackpool (Central Coach Station), arriving there at 1805 on Friday evening.

We take the 84 Stagecoach in Lancashire bus service at 1943 to Poulton le Fylde St Chad's Church, arriving at 2033 Friday evening

#46 ignores the 0100 Megabus departure to London but I'd rather be in Blackpool so let's carry on

Rules
  • You must use the first available service to reach your destination after allowing for the minimum interchange time. You may not wait more for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) after allowing for the minimum interchange time.

  • Can someone clarify a matter for me. What if the next available service to anywhere is more than two hours after the last service arrived there. I can find an onward service from Kirkby Stephen, but this leaves 2 hours and 12 minutes later than the one that brought us to this settlement.

Perhaps I am becoming somewhat confused by the intimation suggested by the wording on this extract from the rules...

    Anyway, here goes....

We board the 1720 Grand Prix service 563 to Crackenthorpe (Road End) that arrives there at 1752 on Saturday afternoon.

Well there is a 1510 service 564 departure from Kirkby Stephen to Sedbergh and Kendal - the connection is only 2 minutes but it's advertised as such in the timetable so is presumably valid

http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/elibrary/Content/Internet/544/931/6586/6591/4171910652.pdf

So do you HAVE to take the short connection or wait as long as it takes for the next departure?

Or put it another way, do you want to revise your move or let it stand?
