Seeing as it's October and the Cromarty Ferry is no longer running, we decide instead to turn around and board the 13:40 Stagecoach North Scotland service 26A back to North Kessock, at Old Ferry Pier, arriving at 14:22 Sunday afternoon.

There don't appear to be any more buses or trains for the day, so we take an early night. In the morning, we walk to the Hospital Road End bus stop and board the 06:00 Stagecoach North Scotland route X98 service to Golspie (at Dunrobin Station), arriving there at 06:02 on a Monday morning.

Seeing as our only rail option is to board the same service to Wick, we instead choose to walk 0.5 miles to the Georgemas Jct bus stop and board the 10:58 Stagecoach North Scotland service 82 to Scrabster, at Ferry, arriving at 11:22 Monday morning.

There doesn't appear to be any more buses from John O'Groats now, so we stop off overnight and return for the 0630 Stagecoach North Scotland service 277 to Thurso (Sir George's Street Church), arriving there at 0728 on Tuesday morning.

We then board the 21:15 (same bus) route 201 service to Ballater, Golf Street, arriving there at 22:00 on a Tuesday.
Is this allowed as it is shown in the timetable as the same bus running through, so you could just travel from Banchory all the way you Ballater without getting off at 21:11 and reboarding at 21:15 anyway?

We take the three minute walk along Carmelite Street to the railway station, where we move away from the north and head to the Scottish capital, as we board the 1205 Abellio ScotRail service 1B28 to Haymarket, arriving there at 1427 on Wednesday afternoon.
