You probably need to buy a decent phone! ;)

I must be giving my age away, as I can remember mobile phones having an ariel projecting from the top of them and the great thing about them was that you could make telephone calls upon them.

I am most probably like the person in the "Not the Nine O'clock News" sketch that went into a shop asking what types of gramophones they sold...

When I browse on my iPhone using Safari I can load the forum index but if I click into any particular forum it takes forever to load, then falls over and only loads the forum background and header...

I'm having the exact same problem on both my iPhone and also on my Mac using Safari 7 and Firefox 32. In Firefox it will load the forum header but I can see a message at the bottom saying 'Looking up delivery.myswitchads.com...'. If I leave it for long enough (maybe a minute or two) the rest of the page does eventually load and the message goes a few seconds later.

As a work around if I switch off Javascript the forum loads fine (on both iOS and OS X), but then other websites don't work well (or at all!) so its not a long term fix. I hope this helps diagnose the problem.

PS Thanks to ainsworth74 who welcomed me and linked to this thread.

Unfortunately, the dreaded Filestore site seems to be intruding on my mobile phone when I log on again.

What is your ISP? I've looked on the Internet because lots of people are having trouble on non-Windows devices on certain ISPs, notably Orange / Sky / Talktalk / Plusnet; someone suggested it might be if people have blocks set up to prevent tracking, but I have no idea because I am using old and new Apple devices and having no problems!

On a Mac or iPhone I have the same problem (see above). Turing Javascript off works, but obviously isn't ideal as other websites then don't work properly. I'm constantly having to turn it off and on when I use this forum.

Mojo, I'm on Postoffice broadband at home, and O2 on my iPhone.

Same problem on my iPhone 5. Only started in the last couple of weeks, was fine up to then. This forum is unusable on my phone now, as pages won't complete loading at all, which is obviously really frustrating as I mainly come on here when I'm travelling. I'm with 3 ISP, but also have an android phone on 3 and that's still fine.

Is there any progress on this?

Unfortunately no changes have taken place on the forum (which I could revert to test this), and I cannot replicate this even with the exact same setup (but different ISP), but a search on the internet suggests other forums have been hit, which makes me wonder if it's a defect with certain ISPs.

Could we remove myswitchads.com temporarily to see if the forum starts loading properly on iphone/ipad?

Unfortunately I cannot get this to happen on any devices I use, which is part of the problem. If anyone has such a device could they bring it along to the next forum meet?

As I understand it, until the forum staff can get some information about when it happens and how it happens, it is extremely difficult to do anything about it at this point (I speak from the viewpoint of being an IT Technician and know how much of a nuisance such problems are to get rid of)

I am not sure whether this is a problem of mine or the website, but normally when I click on the "Go Advanced" button, up to this evening I always have had an immediate response, but during this evening, about eight seconds now elapse before matters resume. Anyone with any ideas as to why this is so, as everything else is perfect?

Does anyone know anything about "my switch ads" should they be on our website ?

If not can they be blocked or asked to ( as the rolling stones said " get off my cloud ")

If they are entitled to be there could they be asked to look into why they seem to be slowing access down on some systems,

I still have the same problem today (Monday) but when I use the SSC website that has the same format, I have no such problems.

A question for someone who knows about the forum... there is a Mark All Read option on the Web version, but not on Tapatalk, but that option does exist on Tapatalk for other forums. Is it a bug, is it something that could be enabled, or do we just have to put up with it because it is not viable to enable it?

Thanks

Neil

I think that depends how you read a forum. As someone who still uses USENET, I tend to open a forum, read everything that interests me, then mark the whole thing read and come back to it later.

On Tapatalk go to the browse option, then tap the three dots on the right hand of the screen. Mark as read is in there.

Sometimes its the same for me on various websites that Paul Ive just put it down to a bit of lag. 8 seconds sounds quite a bit though. But there is no remedy your end for it.
