perhaps the instructor training might start a bit sooner than six weeks?
Six weeks is the rule, no training without that notice period given.

Many thanks for that, appreciated.Six weeks is the rule, no training without that notice period given.
Given the very varied hours that drivers work, I suspect the rule is to enable them to plan their lives outside of work. I think it’s worth remembering that TPE operate 24 hours a day.The rules of the railway industry are (nearly) all justified by the need for the safety of the train and its passengers/freight. How is this six-week rule justified?

I assume many of these drivers would have started training before the courses were suspended. Will they have to start from scratch?
According to tops 68027 is now allocated to set TP04
It's on set 4 but next one out is set 11 on night brake testing then FFR next week.According to tops 68027 is now allocated to set TP04
Set 5+2 are in store and going into secure store so will probably be the last one to get commissioned.what about set 5?

Just secure and might be joined a couple of new sets soon as everything is finished now and I think Spain want the room
Superior traction taking them there....47830.These are the 2 Mk5a sets coupled rear to rear in storage at Basford Hall, Crewe that @ Erniescooper has said are going to Longtown, Carlile for secure storage on Friday.
Very nice, the Freightliner route learner!Superior traction taking them there....47830.
Is there a path in the system yet for this move up to Carlisle?
I quite understand, but surely that shouldn't stop a request for volunteers for an earlier course. After all, by the time the six weeks are up, we're into school holidays and childcare will be even more awkward. It's an eight day course which requires you to work rest days and outside your normal working hours, it's a courtesy to drivers so they can organise their lives. Childcare is an issue for many so a bit of notice helps so we can sort it out properly.
Do we know which is which please? I'm wondering if this is 12802 or 12805...?
I wonder if the ‘no further date offered’ was down to TPE wanting to see all the latest software/brake mods settled down and with a substantial mileage FFR in the bag? I wonder too if they put the bar back to 4000 miles? That would certainly fit with the extensive running of 68031/TP04 over the past 14 days.
Is the 6 weeks a union rule, a matter of courtesy to staff, or working around other diagramming needs? Provided it’s not a union rule (and of course nothing wrong if it is!) then perhaps the instructor training might start a bit sooner than six weeks?
Are you stating that as a fact or just a possibility? Genuine questionOr this latest set has failed it's FFR and had to start again from scratch.
Yep that was Set 11 out last night and should start FFR next week, Set 4 is finished with FFR and should be handed over next week but I’m not expecting it to move from MID straight away. Sets 7, 10 and 12 are either in the country or not far and should put in an appearance in the next couple of weeks.Ooops! Missed these:
Thursday 20.06.2019
21:26 MID-Stafford
23:23 Stafford-Warrington Bank Quay
Friday 21.06.2019
02:24 Warrington Bank Quay-Crewe
I wonder if they were the night braking runs with TP11 referred to earlier?
Many thanks for that, greatly appreciated.
