Will it pick up it's diagram @ Lime Street?
1F74 cancelled.
68027 forward as 5F74 16:44 SCA-LIV
https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/O43343/2019/09/26/advanced

It seems that 1E51 19:56 LIV-SCA is starting from Manchester Victoria

“19:56 Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough due 22:35 will be started from Manchester Victoria.
It will no longer call at Liverpool Lime Street and Lea Green.
This is due to a shortage of train conductors.”

Info from TPE ‘Journey Check’.

1F76 17:44 SCA-LIV running as normal.

EDIT: 5F74 sensibly cancelled at Manchester Victoria, run to the turn back sidings, presumably ready to pick up 1E51 from Manchester.

On1E25 this morning from Huddersfield to Leeds, scheduled 0800 departure, but arrived about 17 late, so the platform was full, and Coach A was full and standing on departure.

Noteworthy that the dwell time was extended by 90 seconds owing to the high loading and single doors.

In those circumstances, a 185 would almost certainly have also had an extended dwell time. In fact, a 185 may have been worse, espcially if not everyone was able to board - which would be likely, with passengers present for the 08:00 and 08:15 departures, plus some of those for the 08:22.

At Scarborough, in the afternoon, I was able to take a photo’ of the driving trailer of TP09. It makes a fine sight up against the buffer stop, platform 1. Sorry about the dull weather.

Not too sure what they were doing at MID this morning but set 8(I think) had a 68 at either end and a FL 66 at the front... not too sure what they were doing with it...

Test trains/Fault Free Running
There don’t appear to have been any workings this week. 68030 plus TP12 is currently at Crewe, so fingers crossed that one is ready for handing over after its protracted FFR.

Thanks to Jack for the report of 68021 with TP08, perhaps a sign this might be the next set being prepared.

Had a visit today to MID and it was very interesting!
Can report that TP08 was on the shed with 68021 attached as the set loco and 68024 was attached to the DT end.

Tried out a Nova 3 Seamer to Leeds and back from York to Seamer today (took a 185 back from Leeds to York) with a baby and 2 year old in tow. Came away reasonably impressed. My thoughts:

- Looks and feels like a “big train”... A real Intercity feel.
- Also seems solid and well screwed together.
- Plenty of luggage space in the large overhead racks and behind seat backs.
- Nice and quiet.
- The seats feel softer in the base than LNER’s Azumas (despite being covered in cloth).
- The baby changing facilities are excellent and significantly better than the 185’s. The table is twice the size (on 185s it’s way to small for my 2 year old) and has a strap to hold baby in place. I could sit my 2 year old on it and still have space to change the baby - which it just as well as it kept him out of reach of all the brightly lit call for aid buttons!
- On the return journey there was a lot of people waiting to board at York. Everyone seemed to get a seat. A 185 would have been very full and standing.

Can anyone tell me for sure (not just guessing) if there is any co-ordination between train crew rostering and traction rostering? There seem to be a lot of cancellations because of lack of crew. I understand a lot have yet to be trained but why put out sets that are unlikely to complete the diagram? The diagram/s are fairly established so surely it is known by whomever rosters the crew. Not being arsey, just curious. It inconveniences my playing out but to real passengers it is a very poor do! Ta.

its not just the loco sets that are affected, plenty of unit diagrams have been cancelled outright or terminated short or started later the past couple of weekends and others have already been cancelled, terminated short etc today.
