Thats the problem with doing assessments privately if you don't get a offer within the 2 years you have paid money for nothing.
I thought the assessment results were good for 5 years?

I was led to believe that when a company advertises jobs they have to put an external advertisment out if the numbers are over a certain number. It is political thing I think because if you take internals, qualified drivers etc this in turn will not reduce the unemployment figures!
3 years with my TOC. Think they just chop and change it as they like!I thought the assessment results were good for 5 years?
No such thing mate. All drivers vacancies are advertised internally for several weeks, qualified drivers who want a transfer and such, if no driver takes the vacancy then trainees will be taken on internally depending how quick they need a driver, again if no takers the last resort is external. All your big tocs do this, i have never been in a company where as drivers jobs are advertised for external before offering current employees the chance first.

Good look pal
I wonder how many ex DBS drivers who got the bullet several years ago when the axe came down have applied to go back?!
Huge campaign to get the drivers jobs? That's news to me.
So did any external trainee applicants get any assessments today? I certainly didnt!

.I lost my job with a TOC that ceased operations and the union helped me get a job and I didn't even have a break in employment, also they helped my colleagues who all managed to get jobs driving with different TOC's, I was told at my branch meeting by Mick Whelan himself that ASLEF had been working hard over an 18 month period to assist in getting the DBS drivers relocated with drivers' jobs and in fact that nearly all the drivers who were made redundant had been offered alternative driving jobs.
