never mind - i will try and change that although i am really looking forward to the Rugby World Cup.
I have asked LM about extra trains for matches at MK and Wembley ( and London/Brum generally) and they responded with a standard we are looking into it tweet.
The hateful Franchise FC ground hosts Samoa v Japan/Uruguay v Fiji and France v Canada while Wembley hosts New Zealand v Argentina & Ireland v Romania. Villa park also hosts South Africa and Australia so extra trains might be of use
Wembley Stadium (London)
Some London Midland trains between Birmingham New Street / Northampton / Milton Keynes Central / Tring and London Euston will call additionally at Harrow & Wealdstone and Wembley Central before and after the game.
Stadium MK (Milton Keynes)
London Midland are operating an additional service after games from Milton Keynes Central to London Euston calling at Watford Junction.
Villa Park (Birmingham)
London Midland are running additional trains before and after the matches between Birmingham New Street and Aston / Witton. An additional stop will be made at Witton on most trains between Birmingham New Street and Rugeley Trent Valley on match days.
Virgin Trains have a special charter train running between London Euston and Birmingham New Street. Passengers are advised that this service is only available to tournament spectators. Tickets for this charter train can be booked here.
City of Manchester Stadium
Virgin Trains have special charter trains running between London Euston and Manchester Piccadilly. Passengers are advised that these services are only available to tournament spectators only. Tickets for these charter trains can be booked here.
Don't know why LM told you that, the National Rail page says the following:
Is it possible for Virgin train services to stop at either Harrow and Wealdstone or Wembley Central? If not would one of the spectator only tickets include onward travel to the grounds?Don't know why LM told you that, the National Rail page says the following:
Also on the WCML

I think it was the specifics i was after from them. How many extra trains, when, where to etc which may not have been available at the time
But I'm afraid you're not going to get specifics because, as I said in post 31, the expectation is that people will just use journey planners to find out what's running - problem solved as far as the TOCs are concerned.
They seem increasingly to be of the view that producing a special timetable, even just as an online pdf, or putting out some kind of summary, or telling the media what they're up to so the word can be spread that way, is so last year.
Presumably when Neil Warnock was the Palace manager. He often takes his teams on the train to away matches.
A lot of teams still travel by train to matches. Man Utd and Swansea have both been seen reserving entire carriages on Virgin / GWR services.
Will SWT still be sending 3 car 159s to Exeter when the 3 games (I think their website says) are being played down there or have they plans to strengthen them? Obviously Twickenham is the centre of attention!
I've no idea but FGW usually run longer trains and manage to fit in a couple of extras between Exeter and Digby & Sowton when Exeter Chiefs play at Sandy Park.
These are Internationals though. I don't think after making a quick recce round Rugby location stations, nothing is being done apart from strengthening perhaps, although in the case of Cardiff, FGW are running specials from Bristol..
However, if one goes to National Rail Website there is a section referring to the events and what TOCs are planning for each venue.
A South West Trains statement said: "In light of this, we strongly advise that you make alternative arrangements such as working flexibly, staggering working hours to travel earlier, taking annual leave, and swap to walking or cycling where possible on Friday."
It warned rail passengers stations including London Waterloo, Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Putney and Richmond "may have to wait for some time" to board trains during the Friday evening peak time from 4pm.
Rugby World Cup match - 19 September*
On*Saturday 19 of September*there is a France vs Italy Rugby World Cup match at*Twickenham*stadium*with akick off time of 20:00. All trains through Twickenham on this day are likely to be extremely busy, especially between 16:00 and 19.30 and from 22:00 till the end of service.*
A queuing system will be operating after the match. To allow us to operate the queuing system after the match, the station car park will be closed all day on 19th of September.
Extra trains are running to Twickenham from London Waterloo/Reading before the match and from Twickenham to London Waterloo/Reading afterwards.
Customers for trains towards Richmond, Clapham Junction and London Waterloo should use the entrance through the station car park (Entrance A).*
Customers for trains towards Wimbledon via Kingston, Reading via Ascot and Windsor & Eton Riverside should use the main station entrance (Entrance B).
Did they close the car park today at Twickenham and implement a queuing system? That's what they are doing tomorrow.
FGW have got Digby & Sowton pretty well organised post match these days. They check all tickets (and sell them if necessary) then get everyone to queue up depending on which direction you're travelling.
The trains are full but I've always managed to get on the next available service.
Will that now be Newcourt (NCO) now that it's opened, and is much closer to Sandy Park?
Not a good evening at Twickenham tonight. Twitter reports a fatality. Though official line is accident.
