Can you get to Man Vic for just before 10am? You'll stand a chance then.

It'd be a bit of an early start but it's a possibility - the 0725 MKC-MAN gets to Picc at 0905. Looking at the diagrams on post 1 that may well be the best bet.

Are any out on Sundays (or Nova 3s?) - if not I might split the journey up to try to get one of each, in which case the early start is probably sensible.

Anyone know what's happening with todays diagrams as there has been a signal failre between Huddersfield and Stalybridge which is causing chaos!?

I see that 9M04 06:03 NCL-LIV has been cancelled.

Got a day off work and was planning on heading from Liverpool to Huddersfield on the 9E09 09:25 LIV-NCL which obviously isn't going to run now!

Picc at 09:05 - you could even be 20min delayed and still make it. If you don't fancy walking across Manchester centre, 09:33 off Piccadilly is a TPE around the Ordsall Choke. Otherwise get yourself a Glühwein from the Xmas Markets if you have time

I do sympathise. Just no guarantee what runs with TPE at the moment. Hope you do get there though and if it's a 68 all the better but an 802 would do.

You couldn't make it up, we were booked on the 9M16 back from York to Liverpool today. Ha ha. We did actually end up travelling behind Black Douglas yesterday which was a bonus.

You'd think they would drop the new Newcastle-Edinburgh legs and protect the existing core Liverpool-Newcastle service.

I think it’s got something to do with protecting the training programme. Crews will still need to route learn EDB and sign the traction so running all the way up will provide that opportunity. Cutting services out of the core (all of which are off-peak I recall) shouldn’t cause too much of an issue as the route between Manchester and Leeds has a fast(er) Hull service now during the off-peak.

Short term pain for long term gain I suppose. Would rather know what’s being cancelled than have stuff spinning short and being cancelled ad-hoc on the scale that we’ve experienced in recent weeks, which hasn’t been helped by the infrastructure challenges.

In terms of peak services, I think it’s mainly the west bound that will suffer as heading east, the ‘right’ services are running.

Not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not?

There have been announcements at Huddersfield for over a week about the December TT change, as we’ve previously mentioned, only a couple of peak services will be removed for people “getting to work”, and you also forget about the Hull - Piccadilly service.

AND - keeping it on topic - there will be a greater number of 802s out and about!
