Noticed 769426 is back as 319426 in platform 5 2023 loco and coaching stock book so was it officially renumbered on records as a 769 or is it still 319426 as it wasn't completely finished?
It's definitely carrying 769 426 on it in my photo a few posts back.Noticed 769426 is back as 319426 in platform 5 2023 loco and coaching stock book so was it officially renumbered on records as a 769 or is it still 319426 as it wasn't completely finished?
Hopefully still some about to Penarth next weekLatest gen from our local forum, 769s are down to 2 diagrams from tomorrow (one off Rhymney and one off Canton). 421 will be the unit off Rhymney.
That leaves 008, 445 or 452 for the other working.
008 is believed to be the next unit to go off lease
There will be. One diagram 06:34 Cardiff to Penarth and so on. The other 06:32 Rhymney to Penarth etcHopefully still some about to Penarth next week
In service, yes. 006 is down the Pullman side of Canton and has been for quite some time so I can't see that coming back out.Is 008 the only /0 left now?
Pullman's is what was the old loco depot.....the bottom part of Canton. It now falls under TfW so the whole site is theirs.....I just still refer to it as PullmansWhich side is the pullman side?
Absolutely. I hope the plaque in the cab ends up in York.hopefully we'll get a bit of a heads up on 008, considering its the last of the 0s and the first to go into the Chunnel
I see no reason why this would have changed. All 231s are now serviceable and currently 5 in service a day. Whack it up to 7 by the TT and there’ll be no need for them. Are TFW still intending to withdraw all of the 769s by the May timetable change?
Is this a question or a statement? It’s worded rather oddly. Is 769008 next off to long marston this week leaving
TFW.
421 next.

Either way, it’s incorrect. 769452 is next to go.

We are supposed to have all 175s back in service, plus more MK4 and 197 diagrams from May timetable change. In theory the 150s should only be needed on their booked workings in the Valleys/Cardiff Local/Ebbw Vale etc. But the mess things have been since March I wouldn't be at all surprised if 150s are still used on long distance routes. It depends on how you define "need" I suppose. Given that they frequently cancel trains due lack of available stock it might be useful to be able to free up some 150s.

We as in the passengers.Who is "We?"
It's more the nightmare of keeping another microfleet. People on this forum over use the term microfleet far too often, using it to describe fairly decent sized fleets, but 3 units is the very definition of a microfleet, not forgetting a microfleet will also be created by the retention of three 170s for longer. 769s (and 170s) can only work very specific routes, and I'm not sure the hassle of specifically diagramming for three 769s plus three 170s will be worth it. I'd be very surprised if the 769s survived the May change, especially if the Vivajunk behave. We as in the passengers.
I agree with you. Id be happy to see the back of the 769s to be honest. Dont mind the 170s but they will be going soon enough I think. And as I said more 175s 'should' be in service along with the 197 and MK4 from May so hopefully there will be enough 231s and 150s to cover the line the 769s work currently. It's more the nightmare of keeping another microfleet. There should be enough 231s in passenger service to replace the 769s now but there only seem to be 5 in service each dayGiven that both 231s and 769s are currently only usuable on Rhymney - Penarth services, the issues with other fleets shouldn't really impact on 769 withdrawal. If there's enough 231s to replace the 769s, they'll be gone.
According to the Rail Express article this month, the issue is driver training - they need a few more weeks to finish that off. There should be enough 231s in passenger service to replace the 769s now but there only seem to be 5 in service each day
Besides a combination of 769 and 231 could be used to free up the 2 150 or 153 diagrams that are currently used on the Rhymney route which does impact other fleets.
Thank you. Really appreciatedHere's one taken for me by a driver a couple of days ago in case you don't get one. Looks like someone has started to peel it off.View attachment 133684
