Hey Dynamonic, do you have any word regarding the yellow paper and symbol pairs matching ?
Hi bigjoe!
The TEA-Occ test was the test I personally found the most challenging.
Basically, you will get a symbol card with four pairs of Symbols on it. The symbols are basic, like crosses or squares and they are all pairs, like XX, ** or ^^. Never different symbols such as X* or ^X
You have to go through the yellow paper which is layed out like a telephone directory.
The list looks similar to this:
Joe Bloggs Computer Services
XX
Tel: 123456789
John Smith Computers
XO
Email:
Johnsmith@email.???
You would go through the list and circle the businesses with the symbols that match your symbol card, like the 'XX'.
I don't recall encountering symbols that matched that weren't on the symbol card. If you had two of the same symbol, chances are, it was one you were looking for.
This is harder in part 3 of the test, when you have to also count audio tones at the same time.
Basically, you would circle the the businesses that match your card, and count in your head the audio tones. The narrator on the tape will say 'stop'. At this point, you write down in the answer book, the amount of tones you heard. When the beeps start again, you carry on finding symbols, and repeat the whole process again about seven times.
Each one gets slightly harder, with an increased number of tones.
This test troubled me, because I noticed I took the time circling whole businesses for the first yellow page (not just the symbols), and in the next part, just the symbols in the panic of listening to the tape.
No doubt I'll find out soon if this has had an impact on my results.
The idea of the test though is really simple, and I feel confident I'd nail it next time if I had to do it again.
