Not a strange working, but definitely weird rolling stock for the location it was in: I have a photo somewhere of Haymarket depot in 2006, with one South West Trains and three Wessex Alphaline liveried 158s sitting on the depot, and not one item of Scotrail rolling stock in sight. Youd never guess from the visible rolling stock that it was in Edinburgh, would be more apt in somewhere like Exeter!
Though when it comes to different liveries in unlikely places I think its a bit of a moot point, as underneath the colour scheme theyre all the same type of train, irrelevant of operator. Was still a strange sight to see though.
If it hasnt been mentioned already, Silverlink liveried 150/1 operating on the completely electrified Birmingham Cross City line on Redditch services.
