Noted ex skylink all white 57* on X28 earlier
Coming home from work today I spotted 928 on an inbound X27 on Calder Road

When are the tenders up in the area??
Might be another step for Lothian and also impact Horsburgh and Blue Bus. Easy way to expand by winning these!
With the commercial services going against First, winning some of the local services at renewal might also push others to question local service operation.
We see them doing similar to Prentice and tightening their approach with them.
Will we see some tender wins here and push the remaining local operators out and no longer have Prentice of Haddington, First, Edinburgh coach Lines and Horsburgh - at least out of local service operation in the Lothian areas.
Won't take long before Lothian / ECB accept contactless. Do find it rather silly that Lothian Country isn't on day one despite them getting the new machines. It'll just make some people stick to using First. Obviously it'll be rectified in the future but still.In my opinion Prentice have the upper hand in that game, they accept contactless.

Transport Scotland should have funded every operator to get contactless machines just like they gave companies free ticket machines for the concession cards over a decade ago. More and more passengers are wanting to pay by contactless but the operators don't have the facility, a large majority of them getting new Ticketer machines but without the contactless function which would require new parts to be expensively installed.
The LP11 deckers are the four from Bullocks that were part of a trade for six Scania deckers. I see it has been retrimmed, presumably the assumption were that they were going to get the complete refurbs at Wrights but it does not seem to be the case for now. Need to put out anything on the road right now until enough refurbs have arrived.Just seen all white with LCB branding fleet no 592 (YP11YAY) on the 275. Change from the 10** numbering or is this one of the buses that was swapped for some of the Scanias?
PVR for 275 is indeed 7. PVR for X27/X28 is 9. When a bus arrives at Regent Road it heads to Central for fuel rather than having the 10-15 min layover. So if it arrives into Edinburgh as an X28 it heads to Central then does the X27 departing 45 mins afterwords vice versaIt would seem:
* 7 buses for 275
* 8 buses for the 27/28
Anyone have any info what the shift patterns like at LCB
i.e early /lates/spreads/constant backshift or do they work a rolling rota or have a seniority list etc
Mind lothian buses will most likely still be lookin for more drivers for every operation they have, Ive worked at longstone garage, its not all its cracked up to beFirst Will most likely have to send drivers Livingston to ever any short fall. I dare say Glasgow or Stirling. First are not givng up.
From what I've gathered lcb already have all the drivers it needs for phrase 2. So any one jumping won't get in until phrase 3 in Dec or Jan.
cheers mateTalking to a few drivers ,who are planning on leaving to start with LCB , they say it's rolling roster
firstIt's a right cat and mouse game for passengers, who are the real winners out of this. Its seems there is roadworks at Boghall, so its not helping anyone. Both companies are carrying passengers.
You dont need to tell me, nor the commuters, or the people buying day tickets. But Lothian have past out free day tickets like sweetysfirst
have got better value tickets
