.....a TOC loses / ends its current franchaise ? . I've googled but can't really find any information. I imagine that there must be someone on here who has experienced this in their time. If you were a driver employed by a TOC , does your employment automatically transfer to the new franchaise operator, including current salary, pension rights etc etc ?.

Just wondering :)

TUPE applies so all employees who are not made redundant will continue to be employed under the same terms and conditions.

Regarding front line staff (so drivers, platform staff, ticketing staff etc) absolutely nothing changes. You get a new uniform and that is it. You still get paid the same and keep the same conditions etc.

After a while the new TOC may start negotiating new terms and looking to make changes but generally frontline staff are not affected. They tend to aim changes at middle and senior management grades so the main change frontline staff normally face is a new manager or reporting to a different department.

You get a letter stating that your employment has been transferred to the new company under TUPE, a new uniform, maybe a reshuffle with senior management but mainly the various directors change. That's about it.

And all the managers get squeaky bums. Much amusement here as Abellio ask "what is it you do exactly?"
