Indeed it is, it’s on the 0824 from WOF to BHM today, hopefully if anyone needs it they can work out the rest of the diagram
09:50,13:50,17:20, ex New St To Hereford & then 22:00 New st-Wos SH.
11:39,15:39,19:50 ex Hereford to New St. Unless Worcester split them overnight for maintenance requirements they may stick to the same diagram for most of the week. They do get swapped at some point during the week.

Saw 172102 and 172103 today, both in WMR livery but Chiltern interiors as expected.

Is it just me or is the shade of gold slightly more orange than on the other 172s? I say this as 103 was coupled to 172006 and there seemed to be a difference, may have just been dirt though.

I believe it's just because the vinyls are new, however I personally think the shade of gold is more yellow

Does anyone know when 172342 was named 'Roger Sumner' please? Flickr suggests the vinyls have been on since October.

He was the last steam train driver in Worcester

He wasn't the last steam driver though. His MP12 course was Diesal. He was a qualified fireman only with BR and has not done heritage steam neither.

Then name plate on the unit is a little misleading in the strictest sense but clearly he will have driven a bit during his fireman days I immagine.

I think that the Centro livery was much better than the present WMR livery although it was a bit of an anomaly on trains running in North Wales way outside the Centro (WMPTE) area. Central Trains own livery at the time on the rare occasions I saw it was not as good as their fleet in Centro livery.

Were the other 172s sent there for refresh? If so it’s probably that, WMR will want them in the right moquete etc.
They were sent to Ilford for a refurb - my guess is it’s there for repairs of some sort as 103 was?

103 was transported by Road for repairs as they couldn't move it by rail. 104 went by rail so might be a possibility it’s something else.

I've noticed over the last few months that a few of the LM liveried 350/2s seem to be getting completely yellow gangways (as opposed to part yellow, part black), making them look very much like 350/1s before LNWR, does anyone know the reasons behind this?

Many thanks in advance.

I also noticed a /2 which had /1 style unit numbers, i.e. basic Helvetica or similar rather than the LM font. Part of the same work?
Peculiar, certainly seems like fleet uniformity was thrown out of the window, there’s a /1 with the original numbers going around, a /1 with a half yellow front and then all of the /4s having larger unit numbers than any other LNR liveried 350s.

At least it means you can distinguish between each subclass - certainly helpful for avoiding a 350/2.

Over the years units have been involved in incidents which have needed partial or full cab rebuilds, collisions with trees and people. 350246 cab was rebuilt and has big numbers, its not the only one.

211 isn't going to Northern, that's a typo. Should be 220.
Have you got a source for that? 323211 is currently sub-leased from Northern back to WMR along with all the other units planned to transfer to Northern. 323220 is directly leased to WMR, indicating it is not one of those transferring.
