Just a theme for a discussion I thought of. Can be a livery of today or yesteryear, applied to any railway vehicle. Pictures would be nice if its something unusual.

Go!

(I'm still thinking what mine would be)

I think possibly for modern image the grand central livery, as applied to the 180s with the orange band.

very nice.

...until I remember something else.

The home of the concrete cow
BR Black, lined in red.
<--- Just like that over there.

Or the original BR black and silver on the very early diesels

Or fully-lined SE&CR wine-bottle green

Gosh, it's hard. I'm temped to go for a pre-grouping livery, but I think (certainly at the moment) it'd have to be Southern Railway Maunsell green, as displayed here at the Bluebell:

It's just so tasteful, and blends into the countryside so beautifully.

GNER, before the RVAR-compliant door-repainting, was very smart. The GC 180 livery is stunning- smart, fairly understated and well adapted to the train it is on.

The actual implementation isn't anything to get excited about, but I like the concept behind the Stagecoach liveries, with a distinct livery for each of their "sectors"- though perhaps in keeping with the buses, the "Metro" livery should have been the white one? Following through on that, surely the Sheffield Super Tram should also be in the same livery as the buses and Metro trains?

In no particular order:

Intercity Swallow, Network South East, GNER, First Dynamic Lines, Grand Central Adelante, East Midlands Trains and Arriva Cross Country :D

Both styles of Network SouthEast "Toothpaste" livery.

Grand Centrals espicially on the Class 180s.

Loadhaul,Jaffa (Looks stunning on a Class 309),(New)Southern, and one what everyone may not agree with is the White & Yellow Connex livery on the CIGs VEPs etc..

The First Capital Connect looks brilliant on Class 319s I use to hate it but now I think it looks quite nice.

I love the Chiltern Livery.

Due to the fact is business like yet stylish and its not to in your face.

I am also a huge fan of the WSMR Livery.

I like East Midland Trains as a main livery because it's curvy and pretty, especially on the 222's.

Or the CrossCountry Livery on the 170's
