Well, what a day!
We were told the sad news at about 6:30am so it was before the official announcement at 7am. I was quite shocked as I was expecting to hear the official confirmation via the media and not work so that was nice.
Looking at some of the proposals and the bid it looks impressive, time will tell whether all of this can be done.
With the ticket barriers at all stations, I presume these need to he manned at all times? I wonder if they are planning on reducing catering/other staff they will offer them these jobs to try and keep the staff on their side and keep staff morale up?
At the end of the day Virgin staff can be upset and moan or just get on with what we do best. Providing good customer service and enjoying out job.
I will be doing the latter and await news patiently.
