Hi Marky82, like JoyDivision says the medical is very standard. I had to really concentrate for the hearing test but again it's not to tough. Is anybody going to have to relocate for the training?

I'd need to relocate for the training. Do you think they'll offer us digs or are we likely to be on our own to sort that out? The depot I was offered is nowhere near Crewe! LB

Sounds better than expected, thought I'd have to try and cover costs of lodging as well as travel to and from Bristol.

Congrats to everyone who has been offered a job !!!
Well done !!

I got an email from HR today stating that I'd passed my stage 2 and that they'll be in contact for the manager interview date . I hope it doesn't start at the end of the month or my current employers won't be happy with my notice period lol

If I get offered a position that is .

Is there still no clue as to start dates?

A little worried about working my notice period (2 weeks) and, assuming medical is successful, finishing in time for our start dates.

My medical is on the 22nd....
When is everyone handing in there notice??

I'm afraid not Marky82, but I'm sure we'll find out next week and they'll take notice periods into account. Don't worry about it, as we're all in the same boat!

Has anyone heard back from their medicals or had their employers contacted for a reference yet? LB

How do the references work, do FLHH contact my most recent employer? I can't remember if I submitted references on the original application form?

Can someone who has passed CBI answer the following for me? I must have been one of the last to take the OPC part 2 on 3rd October and felt it went without any problems at all, but as yet all is silent from FL. I'm worried they might have my email wrong or that the letter has been lost in post. Soooo.... Did stage 2 confirmation (CBI) come via letter or email? and how long were people waiting?

Thanks in advance, and well done to those with offers. VERY jealous but hope to be with you all soon!

It took 7 days to get a response back and this come through the post.
So far everything has come via the post, nothing through email so I'd assume you'd be post too.

Don't panic just yet as a few on here were waiting 2 weeks and over.

Good luck

I'm not sure if we submitted reference details with the application form. My references will both be from my current employer as my last change of job was 10 years ago! LB

Thanks Marky82! That makes me feel a little better, frustrating being left till last but i'm still very hopeful. Cant be too long now either way. At least I know to keep more than half an eye on the letterbox! Cheers for the info!!

I rang FLHH today, the waiting was killing me, anyway to cut a long story short the lady in HR said that the scheme had been enlarged (more trainee drivers) and so the process had been extended and will continue until the end of October. So if you havent heard back yet it doesn't mean no thanks. So more training course start dates probably.

Fear not londonlancs, this was posted a couple of pages back so it looks like there could either be numerous start dates or the start date for everyone has been pushed back deep into November poss December at a guess.

I know the anxiety you are going through

How much notice do you have to give?

Contractually I have to give 8 weeks in, however as one of the questions at the interview was 'can this be negotiated' I arranged with my current employer about reducing this which they're happy with. Just need a date now, hopefully it comes soon :)

It's difficult to be 100% certain, but I'm fairly sure our start date is Monday 18th Nov. Should be confirmed by an offer letter in the post imminently.

How do you know this? 18th Nov, if true is perfect for me

Like I said, this is their preferred start date, but FLHH themselves have not completely set this in stone. Within a few days we'll all know by letters in the post anyway. Please rest assured I've got this on *very* good authority.
