There is nothing in iKB to say that you can buy one ticket on the railcard if the other holder has a ticket already or not, however, I cannot get my STAR machine to do it at present.

Like the initial trial, we now just need to wait for the various booking engines to be updated to actually accept the card!

I've just renewed ours for £24. :D

I see the railcard is back in London Midland's booking engine, at least, but, like last time, you have to enter 2 adults for it to work, so the problem of travelling with someone on a season ticket, mentioned above, persists.

Did consider getting one of these after my 16-25 railcard runs out. But I just don't see the benefit to me. It's annoying that you have to have two named people on the card because I don't often go on train journeys with my girlfriend say as much as I do going to London with a friend (not always the same one) to watch football.

I just wish there was a railcard for 26-60 bracket!

Is there a site to indicate which rover tickets the railcard can be used with. We're intending doing a Lancashire Day Ranger on Saturday but GBRail Rover Guide doesn't mention it, just YP, S, D and FF.

It doesn't mention it because the TTG railcard cannot be used with rovers or rangers.

You're right. This needs clarification as BRfares is only correct as of 22 Jan

The Scotrail website lists it as a railcard option for their rovers but will not let you buy one. The FGW website does not list it at all.

Am I the only one having trouble actually getting the CrossCountry website to apply the discount? I tried a couple of hours ago and despite it being on there it quotes the same prices as with no railcard. Also takethetrain seems to be working fine with it

This is analogous to the issue the Southern clerk who sold me my new Two Together Railcard earlier today had. I also wanted some tickets with the transaction and she added them one at a time, causing the discount to fail to work. Adding two at once remediated the problem.

just purchased my rail card today after hearing about it at work. it will get a lot of hammer, as it will make days out by rail extremely affordable, for example Dewsbury to York return for under £20. cant wait to use it! (I used to have a priv card until I got a job with network rail, so this is the next best thing)

'Two Together' is now an option on the FGW booking engine. And the discount is being applied to the various Rover and Ranger products that are available across the FGW network.

It is, however, NOT being applied to the 'All Line Rover' products.

Further to that previous post, I've also heard from a friend, who enquired at a FGW booking office earlier today, that you can also purchase 'Two Together' discounted Rovers and Rangers at staffed stations. He only enquired about the Rovers & Rangers valid across the FGW network. I've no idea whether other R&Rs in other parts of the country can be similarly discounted.

Would it be possible to add two discounted tickets to the basket and then remove one, as apparently works with Groupsave?

Re the earlier post on seniors using it I am sure the T&C say its only valid up to the age of 59?

The PR literature says 16-59 because if you're aged 60 or over you'd be mad to buy this railcard over the Senior Railcard (unless your partner/friend/gricing buddy is under the age of 60, of course).

The T&Cs only mention a lower age limit, presumably because the discount is only valid on adult tickets.

And because you'd then be mad to buy this railcard over a F&F Railcard if your friend/gricing buddy is under 16!

Or you always travel with the same person who is also over 60 - what would be the point in paying £60 for two railcards when you can have one for £30 (assuming you always travel after 09:30 of course)?

There needs to be some clarification on that. FGW are certainly selling discounted Rovers and Rangers through their website, Avantix, and ticket offices, for the R&Rs valid on their network.

Seems odd (and somewhat inconsistent/unfair) that one TOC has discounted its R&Rs for Two Together Railcard holders.

AFAIK it comes down to the TOC who sets the fare for special products such as rangers and rovers to decide which (if any) Railcards are accepted.

So, well done FGW then. And perhaps some pressure should be put on other TOCs to follow suit. After all, Rovers and Rangers are leisure products and the 2T Railcard is aimed at that market, being only of use Off Peak.

Positive publicity and such discounts can and do attract additional revenue. I fear though that some TOC Fares Managers see '34% off' and just assume it'll affect their bottom line.

I couldn't find an obvious answer to this question in the T&Cs or FAQs but think I have worked it out.

If my partner and I were to travel to Peterborough (for example) I would not need to buy a ticket reading (where we live) to london as I have an annual season ticket. Therefore usually her ticket would be reading to Peterborough and mine would be London Kings Cross to Peterborough.

Could she get a ticket the whole way benefitting from this card? From what I can establish you have to be physically together for the whole journey but don't have to have identical tickets. Is that correct?
